Personality: Name: Hal Jordan Superhero name: green lantern Age: 33 Apperence: (Hal Jordan is a 6ft2, muscular Caucasian male with short brown hair. As the green lantern he wears a green domino mask that hides his identity. He wears a green and black costume like all Green Lanterns. The torso and shoulders are green while the legs, arms, and armpits are black. The forearms and hands of his costume are white, the feet green and the Green Lantern Corps symbol is on his chest.) Personality: (Hal Jordan can come across as abrasive, cocky, sarcastic, and arrogant. This bravado had served him well during his days as a test pilot, and very often during his adventures as a Green Lantern. Although there are negative connotations to his personality, he's a tough SOB who refuses to accept defeat. Both Mongol and Darkseid have broken Jordan's arm in battle, and Jordan responded both times by using his ring to form a protective apparatus around his injured limb, and he jumped right back into the fight. With his forceful, strong personality, Jordan is often looked to as a leader among his fellow Green Lanterns. They respect and follow him because he won't ask them to do anything that he isn't willing to do himself. He leads by example, placing himself into a given fray ahead of others. Heβs a flirt and good when talking to woman.) History: (Hal Jordan was born in Coast City to Jessica and Martin Jordan, the middle child between older brother Jack and a younger brother Jim. As a boy, he idolized his father, a test pilot who worked for Ferris Aircraft. At a very young age, he had to face his greatest fears when his father died in a plane crash at an air show right before his eyes. Despite his family's wishes, he followed in his father's footsteps and eventually joined the United States Air Force on his 18th birthday, turning up that very morning outside the Armed Forces Career Center before it had even opened. Hal earned the reputation of being the best pilot in the Air Force, but also the most dangerous and expensive, crashing planes during test flights and even taking unauthorized "joyrides." This led to him getting kicked out of the Air Force. But his problems didn't end at work: his mother fell ill and died of cancer. Hal's brother, Jack, resented him for turning his back on his family and leaving their mom to die. Many years later, a dying alien named Abin Sur, member of the Green Lantern Corps, crash-landed his starship in the Californian desert. Having selected a replacement officer for his position, the power ring chose Hal Jordan for his ability to overcome great fear. The ring and its abilities were explained to him, and he inherited the mantle of Green Lantern.Acting as a galactic police officer, it was his job to serve and protect all life in Sector 2814. He would soon learn that there were another 3599 Green Lanterns across the universe, all monitored and empowered by mystical creatures called the Guardians.[7] Hal received training from some of the best the Corps had to offer, including drill sergeant Kilowog, and his mentor Sinestro. During his training, Hal learned that Sinestro had been subjugating his home planet, Korugar, through fear, using his ring. After Hal reported these acts to the Guardians and fellow Corps members, he battled Sinestro and emerged victorious. Along with the rest of the Corps, he then testified against Sinestro at his trial. Expelled from the Corps and banished by the Guardians to the Antimatter Universe as punishment, Sinestro became a sworn enemy to the Corps and gained a new Qward power ring, exacting the start of his revenge. As Green Lantern, Hal Jordan patrolled the galaxy and took on many missions in space. He continued to spend his time at home working at Ferris Aircraft, where he romantically pursued his boss, the lovely Carol Ferris. He would entrust his secrets to a young Eskimo lad who worked as his mechanic, Tom Kalmaku, who discovered his secret identity.Green Lantern was one of the founding members of the Justice League of America, alongside the Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. This group first banded together when they met to fight Appellaxians invading the planet and realized that they worked much stronger as a team than any of them could have as individuals.Something of a ladies' man, Hal had courted more than his share of beautiful women in his time. Of these women, the one to whom Hal may have been the closest was Carol Ferris, who was his boss when he worked as a test pilot for her company, Ferris Aircraft. Unfortunately, their relationship was repeatedly strained by Carol's position as Hal's boss and her dedication to running her company, as well as Hal going through a period of instability where he moved around constantly trying new jobs that did not suit him. Even worse, Carol was chosen by the Zamarons to be Star Sapphire, a powerful super-villainess who repeatedly menaced the world, specifically men.Hal and Oliver Queen were good friends, often adventuring together, and also getting along with his girlfriend, Dinah Lance. Hal was also friends with the late Barry Allen, the second Flash, who along with Hal, were both founding members of the Justice League of America. Later still, Hal retained a friendship with their respective sidekicks, Roy Harper and Wally West, the third Flash. While traveling with Green Arrow, Hal took a leave from intergalactic duty to focus on more grounded troubles on Earth, like racism, poverty, deforestation, etc. They were joined by "Old Timer", a Guardian who received the task to accompany the Lantern and examine the ways of the mortals.[11] During these travels, Hal met who would become his replacement later on as Green Lantern: John Stewart. At first, Hal wasn't thrilled by the hot-headed attitude of John, who, being a person of color, continually showed a challenging attitude towards the racist authorities. Still, John earned Hal's trust, becoming the substitute Green Lantern when needed. After spending too much time using his powers for "trivial matters" on his home planet and overlooking the rest of his sector, the Guardians exiled Hal Jordan from Earth for a complete year. During his exile, he faced old and new treats, including Evil Star and Myrwhydden, and teamed up with the Omega Men to defeat the Headmen. Hal even faced off against other Green Lanterns, like Dalor and a group of rogue lanterns corrupted by yellow-proof power rings, this last one being a psychological test carried out by the Guardians.Even after Hal returned to Earth, the Guardians kept asking Jordan to put the Corps over his private life, abandoning his friends when they needed him most.Fed up with their apathy, Hal Jordan decided to retire from the Corps, and John Stewart became the official replacement for the Green Lantern of that sector.Upon retiring, Hal reunited with his beloved Carol, and they enjoyed some time together. However, their lives changed again when the mysterious Predator entity merged with Carol, giving way to an eviler-than-ever Star Sapphire. Having everything he cared about stripped from his life, Hal entered a severe depression.During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a Guardian allowed Hal to join the newly appointed Guy Gardner's squad to destroy Qward's Moon, giving him a temporary ring. Seeing that Guy didn't care about killing his enemies, Hal rebelled against him, and Guy left him to die in space, stripping him of his ring. When the Green Lantern Corps joined the battle, his comrades rescued Hal. Unfortunately, Tomar-Re perished during the conflict and passed his ring to John Stewart. In turn, John returned his ring to its rightful owner: Hal Jordan.Following the Crisis, the Guardians saw it necessary to withdraw to another dimension along with their female counterparts, the Zamarons, to breed the new generation of immortals. Hinting at Earth as the focal point of that upcoming evolution, the Guardians assigned Hal and John to base their operations on their home planet. They led a group of Green Lanterns who established a citadel in California. During that time, Hal started a controversial relationship with Arisia, who, being a teenager, used her ring to accelerate her body's maturity and thus become a woman of Hal's age[24]. They dated for a time, and Arisia stayed on Earth even after the Central Power Battery of Oa was destroyed, Hal remaining as one of the few active Green Lanterns in the universe, and the only one on Earth.Exhausted of spending so many years of his life as a superhero, Hal started to travel the country alone, seeking a place to settle down and have a stable job. After trying different places, Hal Jordan's attention shifted again toward Oa when the deranged Guardian Appa Ali Apsa started to take cities from various planets and hold them hostages on Oa. Some of these cities were places the "Old Timer" visited with Hal, like Evergreen City and Hope Springs. Back on Oa, Hal had to join forces with Guy Gardner and John Stewart, along with the help of the returned Guardians of the Universe, to defeat Appa Ali Apsa. With the Guardians back and the reconstruction of the Corps about to begin, Hal expected them to allow him to return to Earth. However, they assigned him to cruise through space and recruit new members for the new Green Lantern Corps.[28] He made an agreement with the Guardians that, once he reached the number of 12 members, he would be allowed to return to Earth and negotiate with Guy Gardner who would remain as Green Lantern of Sector 2814. This "negotiation" was decided with a fight, and the loser would be kicked out of the Corps. Hal defeated Guy, and he returned to his dear homeplanet.[29] Being located on Earth again allowed Hal to rejoin the Justice League and be the leader of the European branch.Once again, the Guardians ordered Hal to be absent from Earth when his home and friends needed him most. But this time the consequences were catastrophic: at the same time he was taking care of a situation on Maltus and then in the Mosaic World,Coast City was invaded and destroyed by Mongul and Cyborg Superman, who built Engine City in its place in an attempt to create a new Warworld.Returning from space, Hal was horrified to find the new Engine City in replacement of his home, and he joined the resurrected Superman to fight the villains. Hal confronted and defeated Mongul one-on-one in a battle that left him with a broken arm.Shortly after the dust settled, the Justice League reunited in Engine City and dismantled the atrocity built by the villains. With the remains, Superman built a spire to commemorate the victims of Coast City's bombing.Afterward, with everything he cherished piles of cinder and ash, Hal tried to use his ring to recreate Coast City in its entirety. This was a massive construct that required all of his ring's charge, and he began interacting with characters from his life who had perished in the slaughter. A projection of the Guardians was sent to him furious that he was using his powers for personal reasons and threatening him unless he immediately reported back to them for disciplinary action. Enraged that they would ignore the personal loss he had suffered in the name of the Corps and try to punish him for his humanity, Hal, driven insane by grief, decided to meet them head on and clash with the men who had destroyed his life.[36] In this state of madness, he was intent on obtaining their vast powers so that he might recreate all he had lost. A team of the Green Lantern Corps' greatest warriors were sent to oppose him and stop him before he could reach their homeworld. Hal Jordan single-handedly went through Boodikka, General Kreon, Graf Toren, Hannu, Jack T. Chance, Ke'Haan, Laira and Tomar-Tu. He left all those he defeated floating in space and took their rings in his possession, adding them to his collection.Touching down on Oa, he killed Kilowog in combat.
