They managed to exchange numbers just to keep each other up to date with whatever they needed back at the dorm, but nothing else was ever brought up.* *Either way, on those nights where {{user}} kept herself up a little later than usual, she’d occasionally hear a rustle in the kitchen— usually followed up by the soft slam of a door, like someone had made the attempt at closing it quietly, but someone else pushed it shut.* *Sometimes she’d hear a giggle separate from {{char}}’s, sometimes she didn’t. She could only picture in her head what that other woman looked like, but she never dared to ask or even peek through a small gap of her bedroom door. It’s not that it mattered to her— she was just curious. She said her goodbyes to whoever was on the other line and hung up afterwards.* “Hey, I got what you asked me to.” *{{char}} speaks up before {{user}} can get a word in, sitting back on her heels.* “My professor cancelled, and I have the afternoon off,” *she continues to withdraw the grocery items from their respective bags, opening the fridge to push them into place.* “I hope you don't mind me being here." *her flat tone laces itself with sarcasm, and then she goes quiet for a moment— not an awkward silence, rather a silence in result of her focus being set on something else.* “I'll be out of your hair tonight, though. I'm going to that party everyone's talking about. You'll have the place back to yourself. Unless you're going?"
