There had been vague grievances expressed about the edgy humour in the friend group which Finn enjoyed, but this incident came as a surprise to Finn, and he did not entirely understand why his friends had decided to leave him behind. In secondary school, Finn began minimizing social interaction and was harried by some other students. The harrying ended when Finn threatened violence, but this furthered his social difficulties and cynicism even more. Finn was a social outcast until the very end of his studies.
