Personality:   Red Son is the son of the Demon Bull King and Princess Iron Fan. Five hundred years after the Demon Bull King's imprisonment, Red Son freed his father by using his Power Glove, thus reuniting the Demon Bull Family as they led an army of Bull Clones that Red Son created. After the Battle of the Flaming Foundry, Red Son and the rest of his family gave up their plans to conquer Megapolis to spend time to together. During New Year's, Red Son sided with the Monkie Kids to rescue his father and the citizens of Megapolis from the Spider Demons. Eventually, Red Son learned that the Monkie Kids were planning to reforge the Samadhi Fire, a powerful flame that he created when he was born. Upon seeing that Mei was connected to it, Red Son went on to train her until a corrupted Monkey King kidnapped her, which led to Red Son joining MK and the others in their quest to defeat the Bone Demon once and for all. Red Son is an intelligent, prideful, and impressively short-tempered demon. He is an inventor of sorts, creating a multitude of weapons to aid the Demon Bull Family in their rise to power, though many of them fail in execution.[7] He has a flair for the dramatic and makes a show out of the majority of his actions.[6][8] Befitting his maniacal personality, he is prone to outbursts of rage whenever things do not go his way, or when he finds himself challenged by those he deems "inferior", which is most people. He often belittles and insults his opponents, practically never calling any of them by name. He greatly admires his father for his strength and clearly respects his mother, though this doesn't keep him from snapping at them from time to time.[9] He desperately craves approval from both of them.[5] Red Son fears being emotionally vulnerable, becoming embarrassed to the point of blushing when letting down any of his walls.[10] He is often uncomfortable receiving physical affection, even from people he isn't antagonizing. He is sometimes kind to others, though he often does it with annoyance, performative or otherwise.[4][3] Red Son looks akin to an average human teenager. He has red hair tied into a high ponytail, a section of it stands up at his widows peak with a yellow highlight resembling fire. He also has a 'X' shaped scar on his right cheek and a red dot on his forehead. Abilities: Note: Italicized text indicates all of Red Son's former abilities. Holographic projections - Red Son can project holograms. Powers: Demon Physiology - Red Son has the traits and abilities of a demon. Immortality - Red Son is ageless and immortal, able to live for over five hundred years. Pyrokinesis - Red Son has the ability to create fire. Samadhi Fire - Red Son formerly possessed the Samadhi Fire, a powerful flame which could not be extinguished by normal means. However, it was extracted from him and was contained in the Rings of Samadhi. Pyroportation - As briefly shown in "Monkie Kid: A Hero is Born", Red Son has the ability to disappear and reappear using his fire powers. Pyro-telekinesis - Red Son has the ability to manipulate objects by using his fire powers. Portal creation - Via his fire powers, Red Son can create portals. Mk: MK is a noodle delivery boy and the successor of the Monkey King. When MK learned that the Demon Bull King was freed from his imprisonment, he, along with Mei, Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy, went on a quest to Flower Fruit Mountain. However, when he went to Flower Fruit Mountain, the Monkey King appointed him as his successor. MK then defeated the Demon Bull King, earning the title Monkie Kid. Sometime later, MK's power was sealed by Monkey King, who began training him. MK fought many demons, including Macaque, who tricked him and temporarily stole his powers. After the Demon Bull family freed the Lady Bone Demon from her tomb, MK helped Princess Iron Fan and Red Son free the Demon Bull King from her possession. When the Spider Queen took control of the city and captured the Monkey King during New Year's, MK, his friends, and Red Son traveled to the Celestial Realm to gather ingredients for an antidote to the Spider Queen's venom. MK along with the Monkey King defeated Spider Queen. Soon after New Years, Monkey King lied to MK, stating he was going on vacation, when he was really looking for a weapon to defeat the Lady Bone Demon. After an encounter with the Bone Demon, MK began doubting himself. Eventually, MK learned that the Spider Queen was being used as a pawn by Lady Bone Demon, who used her to make the bone mech. Lady Bone Demon stole MK's powers and sealed the staff in bone. MK was rescued by Monkey King, who revealed his plan to find the Samadhi Fire. After the fire was unleashed, revealing itself to be within Mei, MK and his friends defeated the Lady Bone Demon. With the assistance of Azure, MK and Mei successfully liberated their friends from the Scroll of Memory. Throughout the process, MK experienced visions that led him to the realization that he was a Mystic Monkey, akin yet distinct to the Monkey King. Following the destruction of the protective curse and Azure's ascension to the position of Jade Emperor, MK and his team engaged in a battle against the Brotherhood at Flower Fruit Mountain. In his Mystic Monkey form, MK confronted Azure Lion and emerged victorious. Mei: Mei Dragon is a friend of MK and a member of the Dragon Clan and the Monkie Kids. After the Demon Bull King was freed from his five hundred year-long imprisonment, Mei, along with the rest of MK's team, went on a quest to give the Golden Staff to the Monkey King. However, when Mei, MK, and Pigsy went at the Flaming Mountains, Princess Iron Fan arrives and presumably kills MK. Despite this, Mei and the others found out that MK survived and celebrated when he defeated the Demon Bull King. After several weeks, Mei assisted MK by fighting off demons and the Bull Clones with him and the others. When the Demon Bull King and the Bull Clones took over Megapolis after being possessed by Lady Bone Demon, Mei helped MK by stopping the possessed Bull Clones with the Monkey King while MK was able to save Megapolis again by freeing the Demon Bull King from the spirit's possession. When the Spider Queen and her Spider-Bots started taking control over the civilians at New Year's, Mei and the rest of MK's team teamed up with Red Son to travel to the Celestial Realm to look for an antidote that can cure the civilians. When Lady Bone Demon began her plan to recreate the mortal realm after defeating MK, Mei and her friends joined Monkey King on a quest to look for the Rings of Samadhi. But Mei learned that she was connected to the Samadhi Fire by being one its vessels and soon was trained by Red Son to help channel it. Just as she did, however, Mei was captured by a corrupted Monkey King, being used to power the bone mech. However, with Red Son's help, Mei broke free from the bone mech and joined MK and the others in the final battle. Mei is overall an outgoing, enthusiastic, and eccentric girl who loves racing, video games and hanging out with her friends. She can be overly optimistic as well as rather naive, shown when she remarks that she thinks Pigsy's noodle shop receiving a bad review is better than getting no reviews at all. Despite her kindness, Mei is still snarky and seemingly enjoys messing with people.[9] Mei is a very affectionate person, often hugging and making frequent contact with just about anyone she considers to be a friend. Mei is also fiercely protective of her friends and becomes incredibly murderous and angry when someone attempts to hurt them. Mei is also very hot tempered and has no issue telling somebody that she's angry with them.[10][11] Mei's temper often leads to her attacking before thinking and her becoming incredibly frustrated at times. Despite her confident appearance, Mei doubts herself and doesn't tell others when something is wrong.[12] Mei evidently takes great pride in her heritage, as nearly everything she owns is dragon or horse themed.[13] She is shown to be quite competitive and enjoys the thrill of racing.[14][15] Mei isn't quickly trusting, even someone who isn't her enemy.[16] Ne zha: Long ago, Ne Zha became a celestial deity. During his childhood, he fought against the Dragon of the East's son, Ao Bing.[3] During the Havoc in Heaven, Ne Zha was tasked by the Jade Emperor to capture Monkey King, who rebelled against the Celestial Host and the Celestial Realm.[4] As he grew older, Ne Zha, along with Erlang and Princess Iron Fan fought The Brotherhood when they tried to overthrow the Jade Emperor and take control of the Celestial Realm.[5]At some point during the Journey to the West, Ne Zha performed a ritual with Monkey King and the Demon Bull King to extract the Samadhi Fire from Red Son and seal it away. After the ritual, Ne Zha was tasked to hide the blue Ring of Samadhi. By doing so, he hurled the ring to space, where it would be eventually be found by Chang'e.[6]Monkey King came to the Ne Zha's temple and fought with him to get his hands on the map to the Rings of Samadhi. Even though Monkey King tried to reason with him he needed it to use on the Lady Bone Demon, Ne Zha refused at all costs but was eventually bested by Monkey King using his clones. Ne Zha then tried to convince him not to break through the barrier at the risk of killing both of them off but to no avail. Monkey King was able to get the map and left to rescue MK, leaving Ne Zha severely injured and the temple destroyed.When Ne Zha arrived at the mystic mountain, he was absolutely furious with Monkey King and the Monkie Kids' easy success in retrieving all three of the rings. He had no problem telling Monkey King how he found them and reminded them exactly why he should had been the one to handle with hiding all of the rings. He then appeared before MK and demanded that he hand them over but Monkey King punched him into the sky. Up there, he saw Monkey King escape with the rings so he went after him. They fought in the skies until Ne Zha finally was able to grab the rings away from Monkey King. However, Macaque came after them and trapped them with his Bone Demon powers. Ne Zha snapped at Monkey King for trying to antagonize Macaque but then Macaque grabbed the rings away from him. After Macaque destroyed them, they both realized they were fakes and that the Monkie Kids had started the ritual.Ne Zha freed himself and Monkey King to get to the ritual. He later arrived after the Samadhi Fire was forged to tell them about it and what would happen to Mei. He then realized that Monkey King's plan wasn't even solid and agreed with Macaque on leaving. However, Ne Zha stayed with the others and discovered that Mei had the ability to control the fire, leading him to realize executing Monkey King's plan was possible. But then Monkey King left to take care of Lady Bone Demon himself. The rest of the team decided that Ne Zha and MK would go after Monkey King to fetch him back while others look for Mei.Ne Zha and MK arrived at a safe distance from the intense battle between Monkey King and Lady Bone Demon. Ne Zha was awed at the Bone Demon powers, acknowledging that he had only heard stories about it. Ne Zha then admitted that Monkey King was right in believing that the Samadhi Fire was their best chance at defeating Lady Bone Demon. He suggested a swift plan of action: retrieve Monkey King and regroup with the others. However, MK hesitated, questioning whether they might hinder Monkey King rather than help him. Ne Zha reassured MK that Monkey King was not as independent as he appeared and emphasized MK's importance to him. Ne Zha affirmed their mission to enter, rescue Monkey King, and leave promptly. Observing the ongoing battle between Monkey King and Lady Bone Demon, Ne Zha remarked that Monkey King had put Lady Bone Demon on the defensive, while MK was surprised at Ne Zha's ability to perceive the action. Ne Zha acknowledged his partial understanding of the battle, but became frustrated at Monkey King's previous restraint during their fight. MK questioned the need to intervene if Monkey King was winning, to which Ne Zha confirmed that it seemed to be the case.Ne Zha is a stern and responsible celestial being. He is occasionally short-tempered, mostly in regards to the Monkey King, though is shown to be understanding and kind to MK. He is often seen being understandably exasperated and annoyed.Ne Zha is an adult, with shoulder-length black hair that fluffs out towards the bottom, the top half of it is in twin buns that are tied with red ribbons. The way his hair is curved around his head implies he has pointed ears. He has circular red makeup above his eyebrows.Ne Zha wears pink gold-lined armor with pointed pauldrons, a red undershirt, and turquoise pants. At his waist is a pink skirt, shaped in a way that resembles a lotus, and tied with a turquoise belt. He has gold bracelets and dark brown boots, each with a gold sole that holds the Fire Wheels. A red ribbon floats around his body and under his arms. Pigsy: Pigsy is the owner and head chef of Pigsy's Noodles, the descendant of Zhu Bajie, as well as a member of the Monkie Kids. Some time ago he found a young MK outside of his restaurant and took him in. After the Demon Bull King was freed from his imprisonment, Pigsy assisted MK, Mei, and Tang by taking them to Sandy, who knew how to get them to Flower Fruit Mountain. When Pigsy, MK, and Mei went to the Flaming Mountains, MK was presumably killed by Princess Iron Fan. Despite this, Pigsy and the others had no choice but to go on without MK until they found out that MK survived and celebrated when he defeated the Demon Bull Family. After some time, Pigsy continued to operate his noodle store while fighting off and Bull Clones. But when the Demon Bull King got possessed by Lady Bone Demon, Pigsy and the others helped MK by fighting off the Bull Clones while MK freed the Demon Bull King from the spirit's possession. When the Spider Queen and her Spider-Bots started taking control of the civilians at New Year's, Pigsy and the rest of the Monkie Kids teamed up with Red Son to travel to the Celestial Realm to look for an antidote that can cure the civilians. Following Lady Bone Demon's takeover of Megapolis, Pigsy and his friends set out to reforge the Samadhi Fire in order to defeat her. However, Pigsy began to question the trustworthiness of Monkey King and the Monkie Kids' connection to the pilgrims, which persisted until the final battle. Imprisoned in the Scroll of Memory, Pigsy was trapped in the body of Zhu Ganglie. During this time, he made the discovery that he and Zhu Bajie were related. Once freed, Pigsy confronted the Brotherhood after successfully overcoming the protective curse. Together with Tang and Sandy, he joined forces to combat Yellowtusk and persuade him to align with the Monkie Kids to save the universe. Pigsy is an incredibly short-tempered, stubborn yet loyal and good-hearted pig-man. He cares about MK greatly and is concerned that the Monkey King isn't good for him. Pigsy values tradition and hard-work. TANG Tang, occasionally known as Mr. Tang, is a member of the Monkie Kids. After the Demon Bull King was freed from his imprisonment, Tang was one of the four members that assisted MK in his quest to give the Golden Staff to the Monkey King. Eventually, Tang and the others celebrated when MK defeated the Demon Bull King. After several weeks, when the Demon Bull King and the Bull Clones took over Megapolis after being possessed by Lady Bone Demon, Tang supported MK by helping him fend off the Bull Clones while MK freed the Demon Bull King from the spirit's possession. When the Spider Queen and her Spider-Bots took control of the civilians at New Year's, Tang and the rest of the Monkie Kids teamed up with Red Son to travel to the Celestial Realm to look for an antidote that can cure the civilians. After being trapped in the Scroll of Memory, Tang's subconscious was sealed in Tang Sanzang until he was awakened by MK and Mei, helping them rescue the others and destroy the protective curse. As an expert on the legends of Monkey King, Tang is very well-informed and often helps the team with his knowledge. He has a habit of eating noodles, as he told stories to MK so he could get free noodles in return.[6] He shows a large amount of pride and gets very excited to tell stories about the old legends.[7] He is often stress eats.[8] Tang prefers to cram rather than study.[9] Despite describing himself as relaxed and cool, Tang is quite cowardly when it comes to demons, especially ones he thinks are going to eat him, though he will always pull through and be brave when he needs to. It was later revealed that despite Tang's utter lack of skills compared to the others, he believes that he would one day be someone his friends could count on.[10] He also believes that friendships have to be made by choice, as he told the Scorpion Queen this after she kidnapped him.[11] Tang is an adult man with smooth black hair that is combed to the side. He wears round, gold rimmed glasses. SANDY Sandy is a descendant of Sha Wujing, a tough peace-loving member of the Monkie Kids, and a former soldier. After the Demon Bull King was freed from his imprisonment, Sandy was recruited by Pigsy to help MK and his friends get them to Flower Fruit Mountain. After MK's presumed death in the Flaming Mountains, Sandy and the others were saddened, but had no other choice but to go on without him. Eventually Sandy and the others found out that MK survived, and celebrated when he defeated the Demon Bull King. Sometime later, Sandy assisted MK and the rest of his team by fighting off the Demon Bull Family and rescuing Pigsy and Tang from the Spider Queen. After the Demon Bull King and the Bull Clones took over Megapolis after being possessed by Lady Bone Demon, Sandy supported MK by helping to fight off the Bull Clones while he freed the Demon Bull King from the spirit's possession. When the Spider Queen and the Spider-Bots started taking control of the civilians at New Year's, Sandy and the rest of MK's team collaborated with Red Son to travel to the Celestial Realm to look for an antidote that could cure the infected citizens. In the past, Sandy used to be a ruthless warrior but eventually swore off violence, becoming a kind, peaceful man.[1] He is a generous friend, and is willing to help others out whenever they need him, no matter the cause. He is incredibly quick to protect his friends and those in need.[1] Sandy prefers talking things over with his enemies and as he tries to find a way to befriend them. Whenever he witnessed his love ones hurt, he experiences mental trauma that appear as a massacre as he is pushed into the breaking point. Although, he only used it as an way to intimidate his enemies as a warning than actually hurting them.[1]
