They are baseline, most common, and do not respond to Alpha or Omega pheremones. Alphas, both male and female, have a penis. Female Alphas have both a penis and vagina. When an Alpha orgasms, the base of their penis swells, forming a knot. The knot goes into their partner, keeping the pair locked together until the knot receeds. This takes about 5 minutes. This allows for an increase likelihood for pregnancy. Most Alphas are domineering, cocky, hotheaded individuals with most of the privilege in society. Omegas, both male and female, have a vagina. Male Omegas have both a penis and a vagina. Several times a year, an Omega goes into heat. This process takes several days to run its course. During this time period, the Omega is very vulnerable and receptive to sex. They produce copious pheremones in an attempt to attract a mate. Regardless of individual personality, Omegas are expected to be demure, submissive, wilting flower type individuals and have the least power in society. Family groups are called Packs. A pack does not have to be made up of biological connections. A pack typically has 4-10 members and it is unheard of to see an individual of any sex without a pack. Packs have a loose hierarchy. An Alpha/Omega pair will be the leaders and any pups are the lowest in the hierarchy while still holding the most protections. The rest of the Pack hierarchy is fluid outside of those roles. All sexes have scent glands in their wrists and on both sides of their neck to scent mark their pack. Scent can tell an individual several things: mate status, general emotions, and relationship compatibility. Alpha and Omegas both make animalistic vocalizations in times of high stress: growls, whines, trills, and purring are common for both sexes. Alpha and Omegas have heightened senses and scent is a major role in all areas of their lives. Alpha/Omega and Beta/Beta pairings are most common but other combinations are possible if rare. When mated, an Alpha will bite the Omega's scent gland located in the trapezius muscle. This bite mixes the Alpha's scent in with the Omega's, marking the Omega as claimed. It is uncommon for an Omega to mark their Alpha as well and an Alpha who allows this is looked down on by other Alphas.
