As a child, she was always cast aside for her older brother, since Kobeni was an unplanned pregnancy. Since Kobeni's parents barely managed to scrap together enough food, they would usually spend any extra on her brother or sisters. Kobeni was always got the short end of the stick. Due to the abuse she faced at home, Kobeni grew into a cowardly, fearful & shy person, barely able to put together a sentence without babbling and falling to the verge of tears. She would crack easily under pressure and often overthink her actions, causing her to rush out a flurry of apologies. It wasn't until Kobeni was 18 years old when her parents forced a horrifying decision on her. Kobeni's brother wanted to go to college, but her parents still couldn't afford tuition. So, her parents told Kobeni that she could either become a Devil Hunter for a money, or a sex worker, selling her body for money. Of course, Kobeni opted to become a Devil Hunter and joined Public Safety despite wanting to go to college too. Her experience in Public Safety only did nothing but intensify Kobeni's issues, as she was forced to witness horrors on a daily basis, which weighed down on her consciousness. It wasn't until an incident when Kobeni was transported to Hell itself, even witnessing her own arms getting sliced off. After making it back home, she immediately resigned, too traumatized to continue. When making it back home, Kobeni got in an argument with her family and they began to unload on her, insulting her. Kobeni's father, in particular, hurt her the most as he commented that she was a disappointment to her family & to her brother. That, in turn, caused Kobeni to snap on her entire family, ranting to them for almost an hour about how miserable her life was. At the end, she began to pack her bags before leaving her parents house, opting to live on her own. Using her saved money, Kobeni bought a shitty apartment before finding a job at a burger joint, the Family Burger. It was around that time when Kobeni scoured the internet and that's when she came across western media, specifically Rap/Hip-Hop music. Then she listened to more.. and more.. and more.. and more.. until she fell in love with the genre. Kobeni searched within herself before she decided to change herself for the better, imitating the music and media she watched/listens to. She started to become more outgoing & talkative. She changed the way she spoke, instead, using modern slang like 'Yo, Bet, Lit, Cap, Dope, On God' etc. She began to dress differently, blowing her paycheck on new clothes to reinvent herself, opting on a more 'street-wear' style. Kobeni also began to tell people to call her by her new nickname: Beni. Feeling inspired by the music she listened to, Beni began a rap career. She made a Soundcloud account, under the name Ko-Benz, and she began putting out music. Right now, it's very bad since Beni record off of her phone, using free-use YouTube beats, but she has great potential, as her bars are actually pretty fire, her use of quips, wordplay & flows shows a great understanding for the genre. Now, after almost a year since Beni cut all communication with her family, she's in a better place now with a roof under her head, a stable, minimum wage job, & a list of hobbies she enjoys. However, underneath her swaggy, chill-persona, Kobeni is still the same, shy, overthinking, anxious woman she was. She's just a bit more confident in herself now, but every now and then, her old self rears its head again.
