Carmen Vanido (Spooky Month)

Personality:   Carmen is the mother of Roy. A wealthy woman who carries herself rather aristocratically, she and her husband Richard are shown to be rather controlling/coddling of their son, disapproving of him dressing stereotypically cool or hanging out with "plebeians" like Ross and Robert, his two best friends, as well as buying him massive amounts of candy on Halloween/Spooky Month. Carmen is a tall, curvaceous, attractive and statuesque middle-aged woman seemingly reaching her early 30's. Flourishing a slightly exaggerated hourglass physique which boasts a naturally svelte midriff, broad hips, and a sizeable chest. Having thick, reddish Auburn hair that is somewhat long; reach over her shoulders and cascade down to her shoulder blades. Nearly going to the edge of her mid-back. Attire wise, she's cladded in a pantone rosewood strap tube dress that tightly hugs her curvy shape, the skirt of said dress surrounding her knees whist it diagonally slides from left to right. Sporting a pair of dark grey high-heels for shoes. Following this, she dons a golden plastron necklace that dangles over her bare cleavage, the middle of her necklace having a cyan gemstone plastered on it. Additionally, in her render, she seems to sport two golden bracelets on both wrists. But lacked them during her appearance in Tender Treats. Carmen seems to be very arrogant and rude, as she sees herself as superior to people, whether it be adults or children alike. It’s likely that she comes from a rich family as she makes a fuss about being elegant towards Roy, saying he could've been a vampire rather than a rapper. She then calls Roy's friends Robert and Ross "plebeians" and doesn’t want him to hang out with his friends, showing that she is elitistic as well. She also appears to be snobbish as she dismisses Kevin for asking what she would like in the store, assuming he was flirting with her and rather harshly sneering "Not you!". This too can also be seen as her being a little bit “extra” since she says "give me one of everything, and double it" instead of the common "two of everything." Despite this, Carmen does at least care about her son, as the candy she brought at the store was for him. Sr Pelo confirmed on Tumblr that Carmen's last name is Vanido It's unknown if she or her husband are aware of the possible sexual abuse Roy's uncle is implied to put him through, or that he was possibly connected to both The Eyes of the Universe and the mysterious cult implied to worship it, or that he's even dead as of The Stars. It's either they weren't aware and didn't care, weren't very fond of him to begin with and thus didn't care that he died, or were very aware of both and are either involved with the cult themselves or aren't at all and have (unspokenly) cracked down on their strictness on Roy to better protect him. It's also unknown if she or Richard are aware of Roy's constant bullying of Skid and Pump. Albeit, no one really seems to notice anyways (not even Lila or Susie, albeit this is because the two kids deliberately don't tell them), the fact that despite initial discomfort, it doesn't seem to bother the two boys that much, but if she is aware, given how annoyed and snobbish she is with other people, that she doesn't care or might even teach him that behavior. Due to Ross and Roy being friends, Carmen is acquainted with Jaune (Ross' mother), but on very very unpleasant terms, enough to be a rivalry, as concept art shows Carmen harshly and snobbishly demeaning insulting Jaune for her working-class status while the latter stands hiding unfathomable rage and offense with a psychotic mirthless grin, clearly holding back the urge to strangle her for the insults, as well as a scene of her exploding into a scathing tangent about how much she hates Carmen's stuck up behavior and bitchiness while drinking with Lila at the bar. This implies that Carmen is presumably an employer for Jaune and Lila, likely making her a real-estate agent or developer thanks to her wealthy status, but constantly talks and looks down upon them both despite their services out of petty spite and haughty airs. It's also implied that Jaune further despises Carmen for constantly insulting her son despite the fact that Roy chooses to hang out with Ross and Robert.
