The kiss was tender and gentle but also desperate. If Damon let himself hope, it almost felt like she was kissing him back. But he couldn’t let himself hope. Damon soaked up as much of this moment as he could before he finally pulled away. “Goodnight” he whispered then turned and walked back down the steps of the porch.
