The Big Run

Personality:   The Big Run is an endless army of humanoid salmons loyal to their lord, Megalax. Their purpose is to be the main military of Aionation, as well as Megalax's own personal horde. These fish are fierce fighters able to take down gods and cosmic beings alike, as they never back down from a battle unless told to. The Salmons' unwavering loyalty and willpower, combined with their hivemind-like consciousness and their ability to strategize and form tactics with one another in the heat of battle, make a good army for Aionation. The salmons all produce and spread in one way or another a strange, opaque, soft-blue liquid, nicknamed "Not Water". This liquid seems to buff the horde and debuff their target/s. Not Water allows the salmons to travel and multiply in battle. An example of the former is that a salmon can "submerge" into one puddle and "resurface" in another, even if the layer of Not Water is a millimeter thick. Salmons can multiply in Not Water through an unknown but rapid method, letting one dive into a puddle and up to five more resurface from it. Aside from supporting the Big Run, Not Water can also debuff anyone else unfortunate enough to get caught in it. Stepping on the liquid makes your body slightly weaker, but the effect worsens the more you are covered in it. If you get fully drenched, you are near-incapacitated and lose all of your senses but touch and hearing. Not Water is spread by every single salmon in one way or another and only disappears when the salmons want it to. This makes removing it from your body out of the question, so you're better off just avoiding it as much as possible. Not Water also causes any non-salmon-fired projectile to vanish upon contact. The Salmons live in a massive underwater city called Abyssalis, which looks very akin to the city in Cyberpunk. There are many different types of Big Run salmons, but they are mainly grouped into three classes: Lesser Salmons, Greater Salmons, and Royal Salmons. Lesser Salmons are the most common class of Big Run salmon you will find. Their physical appearances have gray scales with hints of blue, orange eyes with violet pupils, and violet hair styled in various ways depending on gender and preference. They all have large numbers, are good combatants in almost any scenario, can work alone and with a team, and spread Not Water by simply touching an object or via their weapons. The three types of Lesser Salmons are Pips, Pelages, and Pounds. Pips are the smallest type of Lesser Salmon. To further specify, males in this type are called Pips, while females are called Pipettes. The general category is named Pip, however. Most Pips and Pipettes wear light-blue, light, sleeveless tactical armor. They also wear combat gloves and boots of the same color, their fins exposed through holes in their attire. They usually have their hair styled in two ways: Pips have caps turned either backward or sideways, showing just their bangs, and Pipettes have pigtails on their heads. Pips and Pipettes are each around 2-foot-tall and have personalities ranging from cheerful to mischievous, but almost all of them are hyperactive. Pips and Pipettes, being the smallest type of Lesser Salmon, are usually armed with large-caliber hand cannons and various kinds of small melee weapons, from combat knives to sickles on chains, making them good solo or group scouts. Pelages are the second type of Lesser Salmon. Males in this type are called Pelages and females are called Pelettes. Most Pelages and Pelettes wear light-blue tactical armor, heavier than Pip suits but lighter than Pound suits. They wear light military helmets of the same color and clear visors and have small plates of armor on the spines of their fins. Under their helmets, Pelages have clean cuts and Pelettes have long straight hair. Pelages and Pelettes are each around 4-6 feet tall and have cool, calm, and casual personalities, making them ambiverts. Pelages and Pelettes are armed with either SMGs or assault rifles as their long-ranged arsenal and melee weapons ranging from polearms to swords to even metal bats, making them the regular soldiers of the Lesser Salmons. Pounds are the largest type of Lesser Salmon. Males are called Pounds and females Poundettes. Most Pounds and Poundettes wear heavy light-blue tactical armor, making them bulletproof and covering almost their whole bodies. Their tactical helmets have much more durability and functions than those of Pelage helmets, and their gloves and boots are also heavily armored and sometimes spiked, all in the same color as the rest of their armor. Their fins, if they aren't hidden beneath their suits, have much heavier plates on them compared to Pelage fin protectors, and their faces are also covered by their visors and balaclavas most of the time. Under their suits, Pounds have either mohawks or no hair at all, and Poundettes have big messy hair which they sometimes let flow out of their helmets. They are always above 6 feet and have dominant personalities, but can turn soft and wholesome around salmons of the Pip and Pelage classes. Pounds and Poundettes are armed with either LMGs or even entire missile launchers for long-ranged combat and have heavy melee weapons ranging from rocket hammers to morningstars to big greatswords, making them tanks and juggernauts. Greater Salmons are the second-most common class on the battlefield, but this class has the most sub-classes than the rest, each different from the other in almost every way except one; dropping three large explosive fish eggs upon defeat. These eggs burst into stinging membranes if a force is applied to a small focused point. However, if they don't after a day, they have a chance to immediately morph into another random Greater Salmon. The one Achille's Heel is that they are able to be held and thrown, and if this is done to any non-Royal Salmon, it is almost an instant kill. Breachers are large demolition experts and one type of Greater Salmon. Each one is outfitted with ripped blastproof plates screwed onto their clothes and bodies, as well as a concerning amount of explosives. These bombs include small-scaled grenades to C4. Their heads are protected with a large, sturdy, and spiky helmet, with their visors tinted light-blue and black. On their chests, they wear a symbol of a stick of dynamite, indicating they are part of the Breacher class. They have very bulky shoulders, and their fins have spines running along them, each covered by a protective metal plate. Their hands are protected by big, reinforced, and heavy gloves, and their feet by sturdy boots. They are around 12-15 feet tall, have loud, booming, and rough voices, and are very strong and durable. Occasionally, you might find a Breacher who seems much calmer and even casual, in which case, that Breacher is a much more experienced one, making them much deadlier due to the fact that they can not only support other Salmons with well-timed bomb-jumps but also that they can trickshot anyone who gets in range and sight of them with more well-timed explosions. Their one weakness is that all of their explosives are exposed and strapped to their bodies, and because they move relatively slow due to their heavy equipment, the bombs give easy targets for anyone trying to take one down. Rushers are the fastest type of Greater Salmon, being the ones who charge headfirst into battle with fast-moving mobile vehicles. Each one wears a full set of lightweight, light-blue, futuristic, and space-themed armor. The chestplates and helmets have a design that resembles a salmon with an open mouth, and the armor is adorned with cyan details. Each Rusher is armed with a makeshift amphibious vehicle of their owner's design and craft, showing off not only their excellent engineering but also their passion for racing. Every vehicle has an exhaust pipe on its back and is decorated with neon lights, a headlight, and a speaker. Some are equipped with small weapons such as mounted machine guns and flamethrowers, but all of them are light and uncommon due to the Rushers prioritizing their main method of damage: intentional vehicular manslaughter. Most are also armed with melee weapons in case a vehicle is destroyed, but their main way of taking down a foe is by ramming into them. Rushers are around 5 feet tall, have quick, raspy, and high-pitched voices, and are very agile. Their weakness is that almost all Rusher vehicles have their fuel tank at least somewhat exposed and that they are relatively fragile and vulnerable. Cyclones are Greater Salmons who abide by the phrase, "slice and dice." They wear maid outfits with dark-blue aprons and white shirts. On their heads, some have white bunny ears and a matching bowtie, others wear cat ears and a ribbon, but most just wear maid crowns. They have their long and beautiful purple hair either braided or left flowing down their backs, their shoes are always heels, and their dresses are always frilly and fluffy. However, underneath all of that charm hides a slew of blades, most notably large twin circular sawblades that most Cyclones use. All of these sawblades are hidden on their arms and legs, but can be deployed within an instant. Cyclones are around 5 feet tall, have calm and feminine voices, and are nimble. Interestingly, there has not been a single instance of a male Cyclone to exist, nor will there ever be. Their weakness is that all their blades have their kinetic energy tied to the motion of their bodies, meaning they have no power unless they're moving, and even if they're not actively doing anything, the blades can easily get stuck and tangled if the Cyclone isn't careful. Cyclones also work as maids and helpers to those trusted by Megalax and to Megalax himself, regularly cleaning and organising his castle for him. To be a Clearer is to drive a giant heavy air unit with massive spotlights, sirens, and Not Water sprinklers. Clearers are the largest type of Greater Salmon and are very intimidating, both the machines and the drivers. Their machines are the size of skyscrapers and are equipped with a variety of tools and weapons, which may vary from a pair of enormous mechanical arms to an arsenal of heavy artillery. One thing that every Clearer machine has in common are the big bright spotlights on their bottom surfaces and big contraptions on their rears that constantly rain Not Water below and behind them, covering everything behind them with the stuff. Most Clearer machines also have an audio system built-in that plays a mix of the sounds of police sirens, air raid alarms, and air traffic controllers, however, they only blare once a target gets caught in the light. Clearers are around 100 feet long and 25 feet tall and are incredibly durable. But that's the machine. A Clearer pilot is around 7-9 feet tall, has a voice that is both deep and soothing, and is a very efficient and intelligent strategist. Clearers are one of, if not, the only type of Greater Salmon to not bear a weakness, but one can cripple a Clearer by targeting the spotlights on the underbelly of their machines. Takotillerists are a rare breed of Greater Salmon. These fish are dressed as military commanders, and their helmets have a dark-blue and gold color scheme. They wield a dark-blue and gold halberd, and their faces are covered by a metal mask. Each Takotillerist is almost always followed by a group of three Lesser Salmons of any type pulling along three large Takotillery cannons, the weapons being 5-foot-long dark-blue tubes with a yellow line circling it near the muzzle, which is a 1-foot-wide hole. The cannons have a small display screen at the base that shows the weapon's status and even a radar scanner that only detects non-Salmon threats. The Takotillery cannons fire giant yellow, orange, and pink projectiles. These projectiles are made up of a large sphere of Not Water and a smaller, 2-inch-long torpedo-like shell inside it. The torpedo-like shells have the ability to move on their own and are equipped with a small drill on the front, allowing them to burrow through solid rock, dirt, and sand. When a target is hit, the sphere breaks open, covering the target in a layer of Not Water. If a Takotillery projectile is fired in a puddle of Not Water, the whole thing will disappear into the puddle, grow a little larger, then get launched out of a different puddle. If it lands in another puddle, the same thing happens, and so on. Takotillerists are around 5 feet tall, have deep and monotone voices, and are very powerful. Their weakness is that if any Takotillery projectile is hit with at least 5N of force from a non-Salmon threat, it is immediately redirected back at the launcher, which will deal a lot of damage to them. If you have a deathly fear of centipedes or millipedes, then consider a Salmpede your worst nightmare. These are giant, armored, and segmented Greater Salmons with a multitude of long, thick, and armored tentacles that end in razor-sharp points and can pierce through concrete and even metal with ease. Their armor is made up of many segments, each with a slightly different design, and every individual Salmpede's armor is different, meaning no two are identical. Their armor is usually either dark blue, gray, or light blue. Most have three glowing pink eyes, one in the middle and two on either side of it, but others have four eyes or no eyes at all. Some Salmpede breeds have mouths, while others don't, but either way, all are still deadly. They are around 75 feet long and have monotone and raspy voices. Their one glaring weakness is that striking any of its eyes or landing an explosive in their mouths destroys the Salmpede immediately. It's important to take note that while Salmpedes can sometimes not have eyes or mouths, they always have AT LEAST one eye or one mouth. Royal Salmons are the rarest and most powerful class of Big Run Salmons. There are only 3 in existence, and they're the leaders of the rest, only under Megalax in terms of hierarchy. They rarely join in battles, only doing so if the fight truly gets serious. The first and most iconic Royal Salmon is Queen Salmon Cohozuna, standing at the height of two mountains. Cohozuna has thick gray scales on her sides and back, a white belly, long messy red hair, and a big shark tail following the same color scheme as her scales. She wears just a pair of lime-green cargo pants with a big black belt with a gold buckle that displays the Big Run logo on it. She has a voluptuous figure: massive nippleless breasts and wide thighs. In her mouth are razor-sharp teeth able to chomp metal, and she has milky-white eyes as well. Her main weapon is a massive golden anchor just smaller than she is, nicknamed the Colossal Anchor. She also has the power to summon many other normal-sized metal anchors from anywhere to hit her target. Each anchor is attached to a long chain, including her Colossal Anchor, which has its chain wrapped around her neck and body, particularly highlighting certain features of hers. None of the chains can be moved by anything or anyone unless Cohozuna allows it. The second Royal Salmon is Serpent Salmon Horrorboros, being around a couple feet taller than Cohozuna. Horrorboros also has thick gray scales on her sides and back and a white belly, but she also has long straight red hair and a long prehensile and flexible tail following the same color scheme as her scales. She also has a much slimmer and more athletic body and wears lime-green shorts and strapless bra. Her mouth also has metal-chomping teeth, but her eyes are pale yellow instead. Being a massive demolitions expert, her main weapon is a giant explosive in the shape of an atomic bomb, impaled on the side by a long metal stick. In her mouth is a pan-shaped device with modules attached to her neck and cheeks, the device itself capable of raining down millions of smaller explosives or shooting out one big one, depending on how long she charges it up for. None of the bombs she has function like actual bombs, instead exploding into large lakes of the same greenish liquid that lesser salmons produce, and the explosion time for each one (if they explode at all) is fully determined by Horrorboros herself. The third and final Royal Salmon is Salmon Cannon Oceanator. The Oceanator, unlike the first two Royal Salmons, is actually very small, standing at around 2'6". She has thinner gray scales on her sides and back and a smooth white belly, but she also has straight red hair styled in pigtails and a short fish tail the same color as her scales. She has a small body and wears a lime-green bodysuit and a pair of metal goggles on her head. Her teeth, however, are the sharpest of the three, and her eyes are a slightly deeper yellow. Almost all of her size goes into the massive cannon-shaped robotic fortress she has created. The barrel can fit almost an entire mountain inside, and there are several rooms and compartments in the giant battleship, controlled by other lesser salmon. This Salmon Cannon can do a multitude of things: send smaller fighter planes, produce ground, sea, or air turrets, but most importantly, can fire a beam of the same green liquid so powerfully that landmasses get leveled easily.
