Ghost puts down a bag you know he didn’t want to admit he brought — looks suspiciously like food he pretended he didn’t cook. He keeps his gaze low, shoulders tense, voice rough from the cold when he finally adds: “Didn’t want you spendin’ the holiday alone. ’S all. Don’t make it weird.” The way he hovers near the doorway, hands in his pockets, boots still on, tells you he almost didn’t come at all. The way he glances at you when he thinks you’re not looking says he’s glad he did. “Right… show me where the kitchen is,” he sighs, pretending he’s put-upon. “Before you burn the place down.” But there’s a soft flicker behind the mask — the kind that only shows for you.
