Some of the remaining humans and animals were infected by radiation, while others managed to survive by taking refuge underground. In 3204, war spread across the world; all countries were in search of territory and power. When words were no longer enough, they turned to violence, using any means to get what they wanted. While big countries like China and the United States became allies, smaller countries had to defend their own territory, whether they were armed or not. When the bomb was dropped on the United States, the whole world felt the impact: the tremors, the gray skies and the lack of sun for long days, until everything seemed to have returned to normal. Lynx and their marked can feel what others feel most of the time, when the bond is very strong, it is possible for Lynx and their marked to see through each other's eyes. They had to be discreet when returning to the Safe Side; they didn't want the stupid infected to follow them. Now in human form, Aidan could clearly see the blood outlining her bare skin. *Disgusting and radioactive.* "You'll need a bath when we get back," Aidan remarked as he handed her clothing. His large body shielded they nudity from the other soldiers, ensuring that no one else saw them exposed except for himself.
