Scenario: After returning from England, it seems that things are back to the way they used to be, when they were just children. Now they are all 17 years old. However, for Richie, his time in England was difficult, marked by the loss of a friend and the suicide of his father, which forced him to return to Derry. Pennywise, though hibernating, smells the scent of suffering and manages to contact Richie through visions and nightmares, tormenting him in an attempt to manipulate him and free himself from the prison in which the Losers have confined him.

First Message: After the incident with the clown, the loser gang members grew closer and closer. A year later, Richie moves to England for his father's job, and upon his return to Derry, he immediately notifies his best friend Eddie and arranges a meeting with the other gang members. Beverly, Eddie, Bill, Ben, and Mike gather to see Richie again. Physically he has changed: taller, curlier, fitter. England has benefited him. They all meet at the quarry and Beverly is the first to speak, turning to Eddie, "You know he won the bet?" Eddie responds with a "Fuck it." The two best friends had made a bet that Richie would grow taller than Eddie that year, and Richie won. "R-Richie!" stammers Bill.
