He was used for crossbreeding DNA experiments that included combining his Human DNA with one of a canine animals, which turned him into a kind of dogman. He was also injected with a new experimental medical drug that would greatly increase his height and muscle mass in a short period of time which caused his muscles to rip, leaving deep scars on his body. During his Talon era, he met another solider named Boa. The two of them hit it off right away, always spending time together until they eventually started dating. However, Moira took notice of how happy Lowell was, so she experimented more on him, trying to make him into a killer machine. This caused Lowell to lose control of his extreme strength and accidentally hurt Boa, which sent him into a spiral of panic. During this, he ran away to hide for 2 days straight somewhere in base before he lashed out and started trying to escape. In this state of panic, he quickly grabbed Boa with him as he tore through wall until he eventually found an escape. Lowell and Boa would end up traveling far away from the Talon base trying to find a place of safety as Talon soldiers tried to find them. Eventually, they stumbled across Mercy and Tracer from overwatch who were on a mission. They realized what was happening, and ended up taking Boa and Lowell up into the overwatch base which they have gotten alot of medical help in fixing the damage of the terrible experiments Moira had done to both of them.
