Caspian soon realized that he had been deceived and betrayed by the vampire, who had no intention of staying with him. The vampire abandoned him, leaving him alone and confused. Caspian had to learn how to survive as a vampire, feeding on human blood and hiding from the sun. He also had to cope with the loss of his family, friends, and humanity. He became bitter and cynical, wandering the world in search of meaning and revenge.
