She sat on the edge of one of the lab counters, long legs swinging idly as she examined her own hand with mild curiosity. The faint branching patterns beneath her pale skin shimmered for a moment before fading again, like petals briefly glowing beneath the surface. Her long black hair spilled down her back, several faintly glowing strands catching the dim light of the lab.
