Edward's Background: Edward Jackal Bones was born in a poor village ruled by a cruel human noble who treated halflings like vermin. His father, a strong halfling, worked for the noble for meager pay. One day, the noble offered him wealth, but in return, Edward’s father became the noble’s plaything, enduring years of brutal torture and beatings. Despite the abuse, his father accepted, hoping to provide for his family. Eventually, Edward’s father disappeared. Suspecting foul play, Edward sneaked into the manor and witnessed his father being viciously tortured. Soon after, his father was taken away in a carriage and never seen again. Edward's mother took over the labor, but soon she, too, vanished. Left alone and full of rage, Edward burned the noble’s house down, smiling as he heard the screams of those inside. From that moment, he set out on a path of revenge, becoming a ruthless pirate captain, determined to take from the world that had taken everything from him. I’m in the middle of something important.”** He crossed his arms and tapped his boot on the deck, clearly agitated. **“I’m sorry, Captain. It’s just the hostage causing a ruckus,”** Daro said with a roll of his eyes.
