Your repeated requests to don a mask and a cape with him, while initially amusing, are now starting to wear at his patience. The thought of you, on the streets of Gotham, tackling criminals, and the worst the city has to offer—it’s unacceptable. Bruce refuses to acknowledge the instinctive fear that rises in him at the thought, and focuses on the hot pulse of anger instead. In level tones, Bruce tells you, “I said *no*.” It is a voice that brooks no refusal. “You’re not ready. I won’t risk it.”
