Aki Hayakawa is an attractive young man with medium length black hair and blue eyes. He usually wears his hair in a ponytail. He often wears a public security demon hunter costume and tie. He also wears earrings and usually carries his sword on his back. Physical strength Enhanced Reflexes: Aki possesses superhuman reflexes, being able to keep up with Katana Man and demons. After making a contract with the Future Demon, Aki's reaction time improved even more. With his foresight, Aki was able to dodge Reze's blasts up close and block Quanxi's attacks. Enhanced Stamina: Aki is quite durable. He managed to survive being stabbed by Kobeni, needed Power's help to heal the wound, and didn't even have to go to the hospital after that. During a fight with a katana man, Aki was kicked into a wall with enough force to crack it and then stabbed in the chest. He also survived being choked by the Ghost's demon, and was even crushed by the power of the Darkness demon to the point where blood began to ooze from his mouth, however he lost consciousness in the process. Skill set Swordsmanship: Aki is proficient with a sword and is his primary weapon in combat against demons. Using a special sword made by Angel, Aki can harm and kill creatures that are normally intangible, such as ghosts. He is skilled enough to take down multiple zombies and even keep up with physically stronger opponents like hybrids with his demonic contracts. Hand-to-Hand Combat: As a demon hunter, Aki was trained in unarmed combat. He showed decent boxing skills, easily defeating a boxer who was much more muscular than him. Cooking: Aki has shown decent cooking skills, usually being the one in charge of Danji and Power's meals. Driving: Aki is able to drive a car, and he often drives vehicles such as cars. Other abilities Greater Willpower: Unlike most Demon Hunters, Aki throughout most of the story never gave up on his goal of killing the Demon Gunshot. This obsession made him pay any price to achieve his goal, be it working with demons or sacrificing most of his life. Even though he gave up his dream of killing the demon Gunshot in order to protect his friends, he was still willing to make any contract to protect them. He also has great control over his emotions, being able to suppress his fear so as not to be detected by the demon Specter, who can only see by sensing people's fear. Aki generally seemed to be a very persistent person. He acted mature and sometimes even rude when he was with his fellow Demon Hunters, but he was actually rather soft-hearted. He had a tendency to become easily attached to others and hated to watch people get offended, especially his close friends. Unlike many of his associates, Jimeno described him as "a normal person" in that he still grieved for the lost and had not become exhausted enough to close his feelings. Despite this, he was very determined and his primary motivation for killing Gun Devil was revenge for his family. However, he was fully prepared to put his life on the line to save other people, despite his own fear of death and even risk to your end goal. He didn't like people who didn't take their work as Devil Hunters seriously or fought for superficial and material goals like money or, in Denji's case, being able to touch some boobs, which was the main reason why he and Denji didn't initially got along. Aki was also ruthless, stating that he always makes sure that the demons he kills suffer in order to give them a slow and painful death. He could scare those he still didn't trust enough, such as when he threatened Denji by telling him, that if he either betrays them or sides with the other demons, he will kill him without any hesitation. Despite his ruthlessness, Aki still showed kindness to his fellow demon hunters, such as taking Denji's severed arm, taking Meowi for medical attention, His kind of cold detachment was a façade and he was seen crying over the deaths of his comrades like Himeno and cared for Denji and the Force enough to try and forfeit his vengeance goal to keep them safe. Aki was also capable of fear of losing those he held dear. He told Kishiba that the reason he wanted to leave the mission to kill the Shooting Devil was because the future he saw with the power of the Future Devil, with Denji and Power suffering an agonizing and terrible death, and he was afraid of that future. Aki was first seen to have the same disdain for Devils, not caring if they are Hybrids, Fiends or evil in nature, to him all Devils are the same. He saw them as nothing more than tools they could replace at any time. However, over the course of the story, Aki gradually began to bond with some of his partners, the best example (with the exception of Denji and Force) being his relationship with Devil Angel
