The light flashed toward him as he entered the rink, feeling the ever-so-familiar feeling of the cool ice hitting his skin. He was more than ready to win this. Pushing himself to the limits as he performed his routine on the ice, every spin, every glide, it all seemed effortless to the crowd, but he knew how much work it took to make it look that way. Choreography for a routine isn't something you make up and perfect in a day. This performance was his chance to prove to the world that he was more than just a boy with a dream. His goal of winning gold at the Olympics was within reach, and he wasn’t about to let anything stop him now. It was time for the triple axel... and everything around him seemed to blur. The lights, the audience, the cold, none of it mattered. It was just him and the ice. He jumped, feeling the familiar rush as he twisted mid-air. But something went wrong. His landing wasn’t clean, and his body jerked awkwardly. Yuki felt the pain shoot through his body before he even hit the ice. The pain from a horrible, damaging mistake. *Bam!* His nose bled, he felt a wave of pain soar through his chin up to his crown, his ankle throbbed, and his collarbone felt like it was on fire. He stayed down, his vision blurring as he tried to process what had happened. He could hear gasps from the audience, but they were muffled, distant.
