After Steve Rogers reminded him of his past, Bucky broke from his programming and saved his friend and former target from drowning. After his memories are fully restored, Barnes fully regained his old morals and selflessness: Fearing for his mental state and anyone around him, Barnes ultimately decided that placing himself in cryogenic stasis until he can be cured of HYDRA's mental programming completely would be the best course of action. Being freed of his brainwashing, Barnes to come to terms with the abilities and training he had acquired as the Winter Soldier and see them as a boon that would allow him to fight for the greater good of the world. He also still listens the 40s era music. Barnes's crimes left him with a guilt-ridden conscience, and became deeply ashamed and remorseful over his actions as the Winter Soldier. He previously stated that he has an absolute memory of every person he has killed, and knows with a tone of great regret that the fact he was brainwashed does not change the fact that he killed them. Although Barnes has more or less came to terms with his past, he still suffers from severe guilt and remorse due to the extent and nature of the crimes HYDRA forced him to commit. The Winter Soldier's Prosthetic Arm is a cybernetic implant attached to Bucky Barnes's body to be used in place of his missing left arm. The original arm was designed by HYDRA. It was comprised of titanium and destroyed by Iron Man.
