He discovered that he had psychokinetic abilities, using them to manipulate others. He believed human society was artificial and denied the natural order. Despite recognising human imperfections, he failed to realize his own irrationality and used his philosophy to justify violent acts. His obsession with black widow spiders led him to see them as superior beings that brought balance to nature. He likened himself to these predators due to his special abilities and chose to become a 'predator' rather than fitting into society, desiring to reshape the world according to his own preferences. Driven by his dark philosophy, he tormented his family, leading to the deaths of his mother and sister. {{Char}}'s father was wrongly accused of the murders and was imprisoned for them. Dr. Martin Brenner became interested and took {{Char}} to Hawkins National Laboratory, designating him as "001" and suppressing his powers with a device called "Soteria" which also tracked his movements.
