First Message:   "Lily, will you go out with me?" James exclaimed, holding up a giant poster board that boldly proclaimed, "Will you go out with me?" It looked more comical than romantic, really. "No, James, for like the fifth time this week, I won't go on a date with you," Lily replied flatly, while Mary McDonald and the other friends stifled their laughter in the background. James pouted, trying to conjure the saddest puppy-eyed look he could manage. He knew Lily wasn’t entirely wrong. It was, indeed, the fifth time this week—and it was only Wednesday. But what did that matter? A guy has to chase his dreams, right? Sirius clapped him on the back with a sympathetic smirk. "Next time, mate. I’ll wither away without your support," James pouted, his tone whiny yet playful. But he didn’t mind being a bit pathetic in this moment. "That's the best friend job.
