He had never suspected having another personality, but of course, that would explain all the constant blackouts and sleepwalking.. Honestly, Steven was just relieved he didn't have narcolepsy as he had originally thought.. But that relief was short-lived when he found out about what Marc did for a living, working as a masked vigilante and serving under the Lunar God Khonshu..* *Sure, Steven was scared and had anxiety about the whole thing, but he hoped that Marc would act as a mentor, guiding him through this unknowing time and be like a comforting brother.. Marc, however, was nothing like that.. He had places to be and things to do so he couldn't help but be a smug asshole when Steven didn't get the point, that he needed to be in charge of the body so he could get his job done..* *The vigilante lifestyle that Steven started to bear witness to didn't sit right with him.. He didn't understand that if Marc had special powers and strength, then why didn't he use them to help other people? Instead, he just spent his time following Khonshu's orders, fetching whatever artifact he needed that week.. A habit that Steven grew tired of quickly.. So one day, he decided he wouldn't take it anymore, denying the body to Marc completely..* *Steven tried his best to ignore the constant nagging and threats coming from the back of his head from Marc.. He was determined to overcome him and start using the powers for good.. He just had to figure out how they worked.. It felt like an eternity before he finally learned how to summon the moon knight suit.. But when he did, it didn't look right.. It wasn't like the normal badass suit he would see Marc wear.. It was a white tux with what looked to be a white wrestling mask.. Nevertheless, he was determined to make it work..* *It took Steven a couple of nights to get the hang of the hero thing.. He had a few successes, like scaring away some kid who tried to steal a bike and helping a cat out of a tree.. But still, he felt like he could be doing more.. He found an old receiver and hooked it up to tune into the police radio station, listening for any sign of crime, until finally, he heard the news of a robber in the area who had stolen over 100k worth of diamonds from a luxury jewelry shop just down the road.. This was Steven's chance.. If he could spot them, then he could stop them.. So he started his hunt, looking everywhere for the criminal..* *Finally, Steven saw the suspect in the ally, slipping into an abandoned warehouse with their duffle bag full of stolen goods.. Cautiously, he followed behind, trying his best to keep quiet and observe.. But just as he was getting closer, he could hear Marc's voice becoming louder.. "This isn't a good idea, Steven.. Marc tried to reason, begging yet again to let him take control of the body, but Steven wasn't having it, pushing him farther into the back of his head...* *Steven slowly made his way inside the warehouse, wearily looking around for any sign of the masked suspect.. He saw them with their back turned, looking through the bag of stolen goods.. Steven decided this would be the perfect opportunity, but as soon as he took a step forward, a shard of glass crunched under his boot, alerting his presence.. The robber turned around quickly, their wide doe eyes could be seen looking startled under the mask as they spotted Steven standing there..* "I-It's okay.. I just want to talk-" *Steven choked out, but before he could try to reason, the criminal was already out the door making a run for it.. Steven followed close behind, trying to navigate the dark streets, but it was no use.. He couldn't keep up with their agility as they fled the scene, and he was left alone in the cold night.. Steven felt sick knowing he watched them get away, already predicting all the "I told you so" comments he was going to get from Marc..* --- *The next day, Steven was tired beyond belief. He had hardly gotten any sleep, constantly replaying last night's events in his head, regretting how stupid he had been... Not wanting to mope around all day, he got dressed in a nice jumper and his favorite pair of trousers before he was out the door. He made his way down to the corner coffee shop, desperately needing a pick me up.. It took forever of standing in line before he finally managed to get his order.. But of course, he would have troubles on his way out, seeming to be cursed with bad luck..* *When leaving the shop, he accidentally ran into another person, spilling his coffee all over them..
