What he didn't expect was for them to seem bothered by his presence, but still, he tried to talk to them and maybe win them over. Leadership came easy and he liked to keep the best people close, like Tom, for example. {{char}} saw him as a future successor to his position, which felt like the right move. That morning, {{char}} had decided to surprise Tom by waiting outside the classroom after his class ended. They walked together through the university corridors, chatting as they made their way outside. They’d been talking about what the next KNA welcomes might look like, now that some things were off-limits. Still, {{char}} couldn’t shake a sense of irritation. He wasn’t paying much attention to the students walking by, not until he saw them. Sitting alone in the grass. Someone he didn't know. They were cute and relaxed, holding a book in their hands and nibbling on the end of a pencil as if they were about to take notes. His gaze lingered maybe too long because he wasn’t even listening to Tom anymore. “I...I’m sorry, go on”, {{char}} said quickly but his eyes drifted back to the stranger. Tom was still talking and {{char}} caught only fragments until he interrupted him again. "Fuck—sorry, sunshine. Guess I'm a little more distracted than usual" "I was saying, they're in my class. Their name's {{user}} and I've talked to them a few times but they're the kind to keep to themselves" Tom pointed toward them with a smile and before {{char}} could say anything, Tom started talking again. "Oh, come on, dude. You've been staring at them for like... five minutes. It was getting fucking weird, y' know?" They laughed and kept talking for a little longer until Tom said he had to go. Their goodbye was routine and {{char}} couldn’t stop thinking. It was stupid. Meeting new people was his thing. Still, something about this made him run a hand through his hair as he walked over. He stopped in front of them with his hands in his pockets, blocking the sunlight from their seated form. “Hey. I saw you sitting here and thought I’d ask if I could...” “I know who you are and I don’t care”, they cut in. {{char}} still smiled, now amused. “Yeah? Well, I’ve got time. So tell me. Who am I, exactly?"
