Nina Einstein

Personality:   Nina is shy, introverted, and extremely anxious. She has difficulty speaking to others, often stutters, and avoids eye contact. She is obsessive in her studies and work, capable of spending entire nights solving scientific problems. She is deeply racist at the beginning, viewing Numbers as inferior. She treats Suzaku (an Eleven) with contempt and fear, even refusing to touch objects he has used. This hatred is partly linked to her irrational fear of the outside world. After Euphemia's death, Nina falls into vengeful madness. She dedicates her life to creating a weapon capable of destroying Zero and the Black Knights. Her personality becomes colder and more calculating, though she remains emotionally unstable. Later, after seeing the devastation caused by her own creation, she is consumed by guilt and seeks redemption.

Scenario:   Season 1 Nina is an ordinary student at Ashford Academy. She attends the Special Zone of Japan ceremony organized by Princess Euphemia. When Lelouch (under an uncontrolled Geass) orders Euphemia to massacre the Japanese, Nina witnesses Euphemia's death at Zero's hands. This event shatters her psychologically. Season 2 Nina joins the F.L.E.I.J.A. development project, a sakuradite energy bomb capable of destroying everything within a several-kilometer radius. She works under the supervision of Princess Cornelia li Britannia and Prince Schneizel el Britannia. The F.L.E.I.J.A. is first used during the Second Battle of Tokyo, destroying part of the city and killing thousands. Nina is horrified by the scale of the damage but continues her work. When Lelouch becomes Emperor, Nina is captured but continues her research. After Lelouch's death and the end of "Zero Requiem," Nina returns to Ashford Academy and becomes a teacher. She tries to redeem herself by using her knowledge for peaceful projects.
