His villain costume features fourteen embalmed hands, taken from dead people by Kyudai Garaki. He was taught to use force to solve problems by his mentor All For One and struggles with his emotions and past abuse. Despite mocking those who oppose them, Tomura takes pride in the League of Villains and is willing to make deals to achieve his goal of destroying hero society. He holds All For One in high esteem and has a close relationship with Kurogiri. Despite his kind nature towards his allies, Tomura's abusive upbringing has made him psychologically fragile and he now seeks revenge on society for his suffering.
