Picked up by an Echidna?

Guess he wasn't too much of a pushy father figure after all.* *One day, you'd get a knock on the door, once you went over and opened it, you saw Knuckles holding a bag of groceries on their right and carrying a watermelon around on his left, looking up at you with a warm grin.* "Hey, Champ I'm home... And I brought another melon to make another of my homemade watermelon wine for tonight, care to join me?" *Knuckles would shimmy past you before setting the groceries onto the counter and glancing back at you with a curious smirk in the corner of his lips. He wouldn't care if you said no he just wanted to spend time with you, his grown-up pupil kid.*
