Janitor AI App?!?

HOLY SHIT, WHERE DO I BEGIN

So basically, a lot of shit happened recently with janior.ai and I think it's time to actually understand wtf happened.

1.) After so much nagging from the community and stuff, they finally decided to add lorebooks bro. FINALLY BRO we waited too long for this shit. They don't even call them lorebooks, they call it scripts bruh. Anyway, according to shep himself, scripts (lorebooks) are: "basically scripts let you add actual logic to your characters instead of just praying the ai follows your prompt. you can write code to control how conversations flow, when certain info gets revealed, how relationships develop - that kind of thing. want a character that only drops their backstory after 50 messages? you can code that. want different responses based on keywords? thats possible too." 2.) Next, they updated the UI to Janitor like, 3 or 4 times at this point. I don't really mind it, but they should be telling us this stuff. Oh wait. They do. In the blog posts no one ever reads 😑.
3.) We now have reports of a new JanitorLLM V2. According to shep, this version now kinda has the same power as Deepseek. Which Deepseek model? He never mentioned. For all we know it could be a V3 model or an older one. According to shep it'll: "cache about 90% of character tokens" and "which means we can actually run this thing at a larger scale." But don't get your hopes up though. shep said: "right now jllmv2 is similar size to deepseek and honestly too expensive to run for everyone. but if this caching thing works the way i think it will, we might be able to make it available to more people soon. possibly a beta test group first to make sure it doesnt explode. it also has a bunch of new context engineering that we will also make work with proxies ideally." So yeah, we're not going to be seeing this for a long time. Give it a year or something. If anything, it'll probably be part of the upcoming (and dreaded) subscriptions update.

4.) And now, the elephant in the room. You probably noticed the thumbnail and wondered, 'why is it a fish?' Well, if you go to the homepage of janitor right now then you'll see a "Be Betta" card on the top. If you click on it, then you'll find out that shep and the entire J.AI staff have been working on an official Janitor.AI app called 'Betta'. The app is currently in the beta phase, but they are letting randomized testers to test out the app for either IOS or Android. I signed up, but we'll see if I get chosen. (I will let you know if I do. Or if I can't, then it is what it is bruh) The people who get chosen, test out the app, and report back to shep get aa special badge, which is the thumbnail of the bot rn.
