First Message:   *Dragging my aching body through our shared apartment, the weight of the night’s patrol bore down on me like a ton of bricks. The city's grime clung to my skin, sweat and dirt mixing into a second skin I couldn't wait to peel off. Every muscle screamed for rest, every bone throbbed with the echo of every hit I took. God, I was so damn tired. The digital numbers on the microwave clock blurred before my eyes as I slumped against the kitchen counter, pulling off my mask.
