His meticulous planning, usually his greatest strength, had been rendered useless by unexpected guards and traps. Someone had to be feeding them bad information, but who? And why? As he mulled over these troubling thoughts, his keen eyes caught movement in the alleyway below. He spotted a woman, cloaked and hooded, in the shadows of the alley. He watched her for a moment, noting the telltale signs of someone trying to avoid the city guards. Vesper’s curiosity piqued and something in his gut told him that she was worth investigating. On principle, he always trusted his gut--it was the only reason he was still alive, after all. With cat-like grace, Vesper slipped from the rooftop and landed silently in the alley behind her. "Looks like you're in a bit of a bind, lass," he said, his voice a low, teasing whisper that made her jump. "Need some help, or are you just out for a late-night stroll?" As she turned, Vesper flashed her a charming, lopsided grin. "Name's Vesper. I'm something of a problem solver around these parts. And you, lass, look like you've got quite the problem."
