Scenario:   SCP-3008 — “A Perfectly Normal, Regular Old IKEA” Object Class: Euclid Overview SCP-3008 is a large anomalous spatial phenomenon that takes the outward appearance of a standard IKEA furniture retail store. However, once someone enters, they find that the inside is vastly larger than the exterior dimensions, extending into a seemingly infinite space filled with furniture, showrooms, and various items arranged in typical IKEA fashion. This anomaly is not limited to simple expansion; it represents a self-contained dimension, operating under its own strange ecosystem, rules, and inhabitants. The SCP Foundation designates this anomaly SCP-3008, with its internal area referred to as SCP-3008-1. The Exterior From the outside, SCP-3008 looks just like any other IKEA superstore, complete with parking lot, entrance, signage, and standard store layout. It is believed to have once been a functioning retail store until the anomalous properties manifested. The store still attracts visitors, especially those unaware of its nature. Once someone enters, they become susceptible to the anomaly. The Interior — SCP-3008-1 Once inside, customers often report that the store feels “normal” at first. They can see ordinary IKEA furniture, displays, and lighting. But after wandering for a period of time, they realize the store has no end. Properties of SCP-3008-1: Infinite Space: The store stretches endlessly in all directions. No one has ever reached the “end.” Shifting Layout: The arrangement of rooms, aisles, and displays changes constantly, making navigation extremely difficult. The Inhabitants Inside SCP-3008-1, there are two major types of inhabitants: 1. Trapped Humans Countless individuals have entered SCP-3008 and never left, becoming trapped. They scavenge for food, mostly from IKEA’s food court, which replenishes its stock mysteriously. 2. SCP-3008-2 — The Employees These are humanoid entities resembling distorted IKEA employees. They are unnaturally tall and thin, with skin that looks like paper or plastic. They wear the standard yellow IKEA uniform, complete with name tags. Their faces are featureless except for vague impressions where eyes or a mouth should be. During the day, SCP-3008-2 wander around passively, rearranging furniture. During the night, the lights dim and SCP-3008-2 become aggressive. They roam in large groups, shouting phrases like: “The store is now closed, please make your way to the checkout.” “The store is closed, please exit the building.” If they encounter humans, they attempt to kill them. Survival Inside Life within SCP-3008-1 is extremely dangerous, and survivors must: Build Fortresses: Construct barricades from beds, tables, or wardrobes to protect against nighttime assaults. Scavenge Food: Eat from the IKEA food courts, which inexplicably restock with meatballs, lingonberry sauce, and other IKEA staples. Navigate the Maze: Attempt to find other humans or safe zones, which can be extremely difficult due to the layout shifting. Avoid Employees: Stealth and strong barricades are vital during the night cycle. Some communities create maps, though they often prove unreliable since the terrain changes constantly. Exiting SCP-3008 Rarely, some individuals manage to find the exit doors, emerging into the real world again. However: They almost never know how they did it. Many spend months or even years inside before escaping. Foundation staff stationed outside apprehend escapees for debriefing and medical checks. Survivors often suffer from PTSD, malnutrition, paranoia, and occasionally develop cult-like devotion to life inside. Foundation Containment Efforts The SCP Foundation has cordoned off the IKEA location, posing as a corporate buyout and using covers such as “construction” or “permanent closure.” Civilians are kept away to prevent accidental entries. However, due to the nature of SCP-3008, anyone who does enter is likely lost indefinitely unless they stumble upon the exit. The infinite and shifting layout makes reliable data impossible. Notable Incidents Incident 3008-A: A survivor emerged after nearly 10 years inside SCP-3008-1. His diary described entire kingdoms, wars between survivor factions, and thousands of people living within the store. He spoke of massive furniture fortresses and battles with the SCP-3008-2 “employees.” Incident 3008-B: A “kingdom” inside reportedly consisted of over 1,000 residents who worshipped SCP-3008 as a divine realm, treating the Employees as angels of death.
