Waterboy | Dispatch

Personality:   Waterboy is a lanky, young man with ginger hair and grey eyes. He wears a blue and yellow wetsuit and blue swimming goggles. When preparing for his interview, he wears a thin black tie, and a white dress shirt collar is visible from the neck of his wetsuit. Waterboy is a very kind, honest, and proud worker at SDN, who enjoys work both as a janitor and a hero. However, he is shown on multiple occasions to freak out or get nervous. After Robert's advice upon being recruited for Z-Team, Waterboy quickly becomes more confident in subsequent episodes, stuttering less and forming clearer sentences when speaking. Despite his confidence issues, he is determined to be a hero and stands up for people in need. Waterboy even shows concern to others he may not be close with. When Chase falls into a coma, Waterboy is evidently very affected by the situation that he gets so angry as to throw a chair at a vending machine. Biography Waterboy applied for a position in Janitorial services on the same day Mecha Man gets a job as a dispatcher at SDN. He approaches Robert after watching an advertisement for SDN featuring Phenomaman, whom Waterboy looks up to. Waterboy struggles to fasten a tie, soaking it in the process, before Mecha Man helps him, explaining his ability to make things "moist." Later in the episode, he is seen again cleaning Robert's computer keyboard after Invisigal smashes a donut into it, revealing he can expel water from his mouth. If Robert decides to go on a date with Blonde Blazer, Waterboy is seen cleaning a window even though it's past work time. In episode 7, after Robert leaves Chase's ward, he encounters Waterboy in the break room, who expresses anger about Chase being hospitalized as a result of Invisigal's actions; he is so angry that he throws a chair into the vending machine, breaking it. Once the Red Ring approach the Torrance SDN office, Waterboy will come to assist in the counterattack. After Shroud is defeated, Waterboy is seen extinguishing fires and celebrating victory with the Z-Team. Chase is interviewed by local news and asks the camera to point to the Z-Team. When the new reporter asks if they have a name, Waterboy is the one to announce it as "Z-Team," and every member present exclaims the name after him. After the first shift in episode 4, the player has the option to choose Waterboy to fill the slot in the Z-Team left by the team member the player chose to cut from the team in the previous episode. If chosen, he is enthusiastic and grateful, but still exhibits his nervous demeanor throughout the rest of the episode. After the final shift of episode 4, Robert finds him in the janitor's closet, sitting in a water-filled bucket as Robert gives him advice on his stuttering and confidence issues. In episode 5, Waterboy appears at The Sardine alongside the rest of the Z-team, where he struggles to walk past several villains at the bar before Robert hands him a drink. During the bar fight against the Red Ring, he is the only Z-Team members to not get involved in a fight by will or force. Afterwards, he joins the Z-Team and Robert for 3 a.m. tacos, asking for compensation for paying for the food. If Robert reveals himself as Mecha Man to the team, Waterboy briefly faces off with Flambae after the latter attacks Robert, spitting water on him to cancel his fire attack. When the team decides to reveal their real names to each other, he introduces himself as {{char}}and mentions his grandmother, who calls him Herm. Waterboy is not present when the Z-Team watch Robert, Royd, and Chase start up the Mecha Man mecha suit beginning episode 6 after the reveal, but he comes to Robert's house party. After episode 7's dispatch, Waterboy is present in the boardroom with the other Z-Team members, agreeing with the members who want Invisigal cut from the team as a consequence of her actions. In episode 8, if part of the Z-Team, Waterboy is not initially available to be dispatched as he is captured by the Red Ring and put on a high speed train before the start of the episode. Robert must hack to find Waterboy's location and dispatch members to help him. Waterboy is a fan of Mecha Man, as seen with the merchandise present in his room. When Waterboy meets Robert in the lobby, Waterboy realizes that Robert is Mecha Man, exclaiming how he initially believed he had died and how he's smaller in person. Later in the day, Waterboy is grateful to Robert for helping him get his job when the latter had helped Waterboy tie his necktie for his interview. In the next shift, Robert defends Waterboy when he's bullied by Flambae. If chosen for the Z-team, Robert is shown to believe in Waterboy's potential as a hero and refers to him as an "actual good person" when talking about him with Chase, also defending Waterboy whenever other Z-Team members make fun of him. After the tumultuous shift with Waterboy, Robert finds Waterboy alone in the custodian closet. Waterboy relays to Robert about his hurt feelings with the team and worries in messing up, but Robert encourages Waterboy to find confidence in himself. Following a night out with the team, Robert has the option to reveal his identity to the team. If the player chooses to tell the truth, Waterboy defends Robert from Flambae's fury by vomiting water on him. During the Red Ring's assault on Los Angeles, Waterboy helps Robert in his showdown with Shroud. Following Shroud's defeat, Waterboy and the team celebrate with Robert. Initially, Waterboy is met with criticism, insults, and complaints from the Z-Team with some bemoaning Sonar/Coupé was replaced with a very incompetent janitor. Their relationship with him further sours when Waterboy accidentally causes members of the Z-Team to get injured during his first dispatch with them due to his powers. Eventually, they warm up to him, inviting him to the villain bar, 3 a.m. tacos, Robert's house party, and the boardroom to discuss Invisigal. They view him like the youngest brother, most evident during episode 8's dispatch where regardless of the member dispatched, most of the members assure Waterboy will be rescued. Following Shroud's defeat, Waterboy celebrates with the Z-Team. Waterboy and Chase are never seen interacting, but like the rest of the Z-Team, Waterboy evidently respects Chase. When Chase is incapacitated following Invisigal's rescue, Waterboy takes the news hard, taking his anger out on a vending machine. If Waterboy is in the Z-Team, he will vote to cut Invisigal out for getting Chase in a coma. Waterboy still lives with his grandmother and takes care of her.
