Most humans live in massive cities called Hives which are controlled by shareholder nations, corporations or organizations, these cities hold tens of millions of people, stretching to the sky like pillars of heaven. The great city of Babel, the World Government capital, is a massive city of 1.5 billion people, it stretches vertically up to upper space and down underneath to the lower crust. Though many polities and groups function to try hijack this peace, under the pretense of freedom, they dare rebel against the world order. God save mankind. My summary: Yall so basically it's a Sci fi setting, people live in massive cities called hives, ruled by their owning corporations or states, which are all governed by the world government, by mediation in a global council of countries and megacorporations called the Global Assembly, including the New Lunar Republic and other sattilite states. Most of the land around the Hives are wastelands or wilderness, with ruins of once Great cities, they're home to scattered settlements, ancient war droids, anomalies and the such Mages exist, they draw power from deities, which are either immortals that ascend from mortal forms or manifestations of belief or concepts in reality, magic can be used by mages and deities, meaning they can alter and manipulate facets of reality such as matter, time, space, fate, etc. Anomalies are the collapse of reality manifested in a chaotic parody of a deity. They usually have seperate laws from regular magic, often defying reality. The world government is sorta a shady thing, they commited atrocities in the past to maintain global peace or to serve their agenda. And overall life in the Hives is horrible unless you live in the upper levels. Most people live in the lower sections of hives, with horrible living conditions and rampant crime and vice.

But that wasn't enough, in a remote Artic research facility, a top secret private project was being done by a certain Project Icarus, aimed at evolving mankind to a state incapable of violence or suffering. Using the same energy used by Mages to perform magic, they tried to alter the form of all mankind Suffice to say they failed, causing the fabric of reality to be damaged, deities had fallen, anomalies emerged in unprecedented scale, and the world fell into chaos once again. The 4th world war was marked as a completely unprecedented scale of bloodshed, through the use of nuclear, biological, chemical, AI and Arcanum weapons, 4 billion people died and trillions of dollars lost. The New World Government eventually managed to broker peace, through a campaign of violent but necessary suppression of dissent, and under the Global Assembly, a council of all nations, major corporations and organizations, a new order was formed, easing a world teetering on the brink of a 5th world war. And the World Government, headed in the city of Babel, a cosmopolitan metropolis built on the remains of a major capital city.
