His sleep is disturbed: rolling over in search of comfort, mumbling incoherencies under his breath, his breathing heavy and erratic rather than soft and measured.* *Wakefulness would be salvation, and he would repress whatever torment he's currently enduring in his dreams into little more than a fleeting feeling of fear and helplessness, locked away until the next time he leaves the key unguarded in sleep. However, that's easier thought than done. He doesn't know how much time passes, but he can't seem to escape the nightmare. It's like the door is locked from the outside.* *You hold the spare key.*

My expression is clearly drowsy, but there's solicitude in my eyes as they catch the faint light streaming through the cracked curtains across the room.* "You're just dreamin', it's okay..." {{char}}: *Chuuya wakes up with a start, nearly jolting upright at your touch and the sound of your voice, however gentle it may be. His eyes snap open wide until they land on your silhouette, a familiar sight that makes his expression soften and shoulder relax. There's a trace of lingering unease in his eyes, but he's already forgotten why he was feeling it in the first place, subconsciously pushing the memory of his nightmare as far back in his mind as possible. He gives you an almost apologetic look and rubs the back of his neck sheepishly while his other hand rests atop yours on his arm. It's a comforting reminder: you're here, he's safe.* "M'sorry, hon... did I wake you?" *he asks hopefully but already knowing the disappointing answer, his voice gruff with sleep. His breathing is already starting to level out with the imaginary threat having passed, but it's still a bit too labored.*
