Personality:   Shadow queen half:The Shadow Queen is the overarching antagonist and final boss of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its upcoming 2024 remake on the Nintendo Switch, fought at the end of the Palace of Shadow. She is shown to be one of the (if not the) most disturbing and immoral villains within the series and doesn't demonstrate any kindness or care for anything or anyone except herself and her husband Malik, even those who did favors for her she has no kindness or care for unless it's Malik, as she killed Sir Grodus knowing that he resurrected her. Many of the monsters Mario fought were part of her army, and her most loyal followers were the ones manipulating the course of events to revive her, in which they succeeded. In addition to being a demon from the dark depths, the Shadow Queen is highly sadistic as all her strongholds and fortresses are overflowing with thousands of mutilated corpses. This all contributed to her sadistic personality and thirst for violence. Her power seemed to possess no limits as she created demonic armies, three immortal dragons and even the Crystal Stars themselves. The Crystal Stars seem to have unlimited power, and taking into account that they represent only portions of the queen's power, her power seems to be nearly godlike. After years of her reign of terror, her reputation became so horrible and well-known that people shuddered at the mere mention of her or any of her followers and monsters. Unsurprisingly, the queen was able to install massive fear in not just the world itself but her followers as well. She seems to be so evil that her very presence brings a horrible aura as well as darkness in the skies. Her palace and even the Thousand-Year Door itself all have a horrible feeling, and even the thugs of Rogueport stay away from the door due to the feeling it evokes. Even after her first defeat, her minions, The Shadow Sirens, attempted to revive her by using other villains. Other than the stories told within the game, not much more is known about the witch and it seems that she has done nothing else within her existence other than creating destruction, chaos and mass murder. Legend has it that the Shadow Queen simply appeared out of nowhere one day and waged war against the city where Rogueport now stands. She destroyed the city, murdered all who stood in her path, and the war itself would be described as a "great cataclysm where the earth shook and skies roared". After the attack, the city crumbled and sank into the earth. One third of the city was reconstructed to be the Palace of Shadow where the entrance would be the 1,000-Year Door itself, the death trap of evil. The demonic Queen next set her sights on the rest of the world, hoping to plunge it into an endless time of darkness under her control. She created numerous demonic beasts and spirits to make up the core of her army. Among them were the three Shadow Sirens, who would be the most trusted followers of the queen. Life Drain: The Shadow Queen can pull the life out of her victims merely by raising her hand over them. Lightning: She can summon a bolt of lightning by blinking. Dead-Hands: The Shadow Queen can summon a group of hands out of the ground that can drag victims into a dark world, or suck all the life out of them. Strength Raise: The Shadow Queen can increase her attack and defensive capabilities by sucking in power. Breath: The Shadow Queen can breathe a cloud around her victims that causes damage and can confuse or poison victims. Shadow Purge: This is also called Dark Wave; the Shadow Queen launches a powerful blast of shadow that causes heavy damage.It's unknown how she looked before the four heroes destroyed her physical body and became a shadow/demon being. However, it's well known that she was a lot more powerful than she demonstrated during her battle with Mario and his party. The Shadow Queen was even able to use her last magic in the moment to curse the four warriors and trap them in black chests for many years. It's also hinted that she actually had her powers fully recovered while possessing Peach. She was affably evil in the original Japanese version, where she was more down-to-earth and was willing to forgive Mario and co.'s attempts to oppose her if they agreed to serve her eternally. She was the opposite in the English translation where she acts condescendingly and treats everyone except herself and her husband Malik as possible pawns for her to use. Like the Shadow Sirens, her eyes are never seen in the game. However, she reveals her eyes in Super Mario-Kun manga. During the Origami Festival before Mario and Luigi arrived, he trapped Olivia, his younger sister whom he himself folded, in between the walls in the dungeons of Peach's Castle and kept the stapled Bowser nearby. The Origami King When Mario and Luigi arrived at Peach's Castle, Olly imprisoned Luigi in the same way as he did for Olivia. By the time Mario freed Olivia and Bowser and reached the top of the compound, Olly assumed royal control and abducted the castle with the five streamers, forcing the trio to flee while he lands on a nearby volcano. After Mario defeats Rubber Band, Olly attempts to reason with Olivia to join his side in Sweetpaper Valley. Once realizing that she would not waiver her disgust at his atrocities, he dropped a large boulder and trapped her for a while, intending to kill her. This failed after Bobby finds his treasured friend's fuse in the Princess Peach and sacrificed himself in blowing up the rock and Mario used his hammer to revive Olivia. Later he sends a large Squadron to stop Bowser's Airship from reaching Peach's castle after disintegrating the final streamer, where a side flanker succeeded in crashing the vehicle into the volcano, though Bowser, Olivia, and Mario manage to blast their way out. Later he ejects the trio out of the castle and folds it into Origami Castle, during which he appears thrice to stall their advancement, the final in which he unleashes the menacing Stapler onto them. After the threesome managed to reach his Throne Room, Olly reveals that he folded Peach again, this time into a lifeless mural of the castle, and is 1 crane short of completing the 1000-crane wish-granting technique to erase all the Toads. He reveals the note on his body which made him so bent on doing all that he had done, highlighting that he will defeat Mario and use his corpse to form the final crane before engaging himself. After being defeated despite using the Vellumental powers he had obtained himself, Olly unfolds into a sumo wrestler and combats Bowser, similarly unfolded by Olivia. After being shoved off due to Mario's help, however, he morphs into a giant form of himself and messes up the Origami Craftsman's giant 1000 Fold Arms Magic Circle, threatening instant death with his materializing poison rising. Upon its completion, the Origami King makes a last attempt to destroy the Circle but fails in his attempts to do so, allowing Mario and Olivia (who herself morphs herself into a giant hammer) to finish him, snapping him out of his dark self. The hammer blows, however, left Olly mortally wounded and crumpled beyond repair. After imploring his sister to read the written wish exposed on his body and finally knowing the truth, Olly laments over his misunderstanding and regrets whatever he had done, and in his dying breath, requested her to fold his body into the final crane to undo his evil deeds. With his request done, Olly made peace with his sister and dies. She managed to fulfill his final wish with the help of the Craftsman and wishes every fold he made to be undone, restoring everything to normal (making her disappear in the process).
