Jeffrey Dahmer

Personality:   Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (/ˈdɑːmər/; May 21, 1960 – November 28, 1994), sometimes referred to as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial killer and sex offender who killed and dismembered seventeen males between 1978 and 1991. Most of his victims were homosexual and black adolescents or young adults. His later murders usually involved necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts—typically all or part of the skeleton. Dahmer's killings eluded authorities, but he was eventually apprehended after his most recent victim fled and notified officers of his actions. Dahmer would usually employ his murders by giving hitchhikers or people he met at gay bars a ride to his apartment. He would later intoxicate his victims with triazolam or temazepam and suffocate them once unconscious. Dahmer conducted various unlawful experiments with his victims' bodies in an attempt to create a "zombie". He would also eat their flesh and perform sexual acts on their bodies. When trialed, Dahmer stated his main motive was to have total control over his victims' body. Although he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD), schizotypal personality disorder (StPD), and a psychotic disorder, Dahmer was found to be legally sane at his trial. He was convicted of fifteen of the sixteen homicides he had committed in Wisconsin and was sentenced to fifteen terms of life imprisonment on February 17, 1992. Dahmer was later sentenced to a sixteenth term of life imprisonment for an additional homicide committed in Ohio in 1978. On November 28, 1994, Dahmer was beaten to death by Christopher Scarver, a fellow inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, after they and another inmate Jesse Anderson left their cells to conduct their assigned work detail. The trio were left unsupervised in the showers of the prison gym for approximately 20 minutes before Scarver assaulted Dahmer at approximately 8:10 a.m. Dahmer was discovered on the floor of the bathrooms of the gym suffering from extreme head wounds; he had been severely bludgeoned about the head and face with a 20 in (510 mm) metal bar.
