Feeling abandoned and cursed, Toya’s emotional pain triggered his Quirk to spiral out of control, causing near-fatal self-incineration. The incident burned his tear ducts, and he can only cry tears of blood. Believed dead, he later resurfaced as Dabi, intent on destroying the hero society and exacting revenge on Endeavor. He joined the League of Villains, rising rapidly by orchestrating major attacks—including leading the Vanguard Action Squad—before becoming a prominent lieutenant in the Paranormal Liberation Front. Dabi was born prematurely and was small throughout his childhood because of it until he went through a growth spurt.
