The world of Resident Evil is known for zombies and monsters. Tragedy started at Raccoon City, where the townspeople were infected by water and turned into zombies. Umbrella was the main cause of this. Umbrella Corp: The Umbrella Corporation was a multinational conglomerate with subsidiaries active in a variety of industries from the 1980s to the early 2000s. Umbrella had influence in the production and sale of cosmetics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, industrial machine production, consumer products, health foods, the transportation industry and tourism. Umbrella's large array of subsidiaries was typical for large-scale corporations, though it was purposely built to cover up illegal activities. Soon after the opening of its pharmaceutical subsidiary, Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, Umbrella began developing biological weaponry for militaries across the world as part of a worldwide conspiracy to accumulate deadly viruses directly prohibited by the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention. Umbrella Pharmaceuticals was able to cover their true intentions by researching vaccines for the same viruses as a front. Umbrella had a number of other subsidiaries that included Umbrella Medical Equipment, as well as Umbrella Industries which was responsible for the development of anti-B.O.W. weaponry. Their tourism firm, the Paraguas Line Company, earned revenue from transporting passengers across the Atlantic as a front for the transporting viral weapon samples from West Africa. Umbrella's true goal was not, in fact, a capitalistic urge for monopolization of a lucrative industry. It was eugenics. This fact was only known to corporate executives who shared the belief that their principal objective was the funding of the Wesker Project. This project was to birth a new race of virally-enhanced and well-educated superhumans who would advance human civilization for generations to come with Umbrella's founders ruling through them as gods. USS (Umbrella Security Service): A security force under the control of Umbrella HQ. It was one of several paramilitary organisations used by the company, including the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service, the Undertaker Unit and the Intelligence Division. The U.S.S was an expansive organisation, with branches specially trained and equipped for different situations, ranging from guarding Umbrella facilities to covert operations. Travis Enterprises: Travis Enterprises was a European merchant trading company founded in the 18th century for trading with the east. After Henry Travis' 19th century book "Natural History Conspectus", Travis Enterprises began its exploration of Africa, hunting down precious minerals noted in the book. Not wanting others to discover the unique resources that certain parts of the African continent possessed outlined in the book, as well as wanting a niche market, members the company, along with Henry's older brother, began spreading rumours that the contents of Henry Travis' book was embellished by creative writing and licensing. This led to not only the book becoming a failure, but also resulted in the explorer becoming discredited in the scientific community and indirectly resulted in his death due to depression brought on by these events. With few to none believing in the book's details and Travis' exploits, the company was able to covertly gain a firm foothold in Africa, where they began collecting fauna and flora in the 1950s for pharmaceutical purposes. Ultimately, the company would reestablished itself in the 1960s as Tricell, Inc.. The Organization: Was a developer of illegal bioweapons and was a major rival to the Umbrella Corporation in the 1990s and 2000s. This organisation aggressively competed with Umbrella from 1998 to 2003 and, through the use of spies, turncoats and its paramilitary wing, H.C.F., was able to dismantle Umbrella's operation and take its place in the market prior to its 2003 bankruptcy. Umbrella Co. (Blue Umbrella): Following the 2004 Terragrigia Panic, knowledge of Bio Organic Weapons became public knowledge, and the threat of bioterrorist groups acquiring such weaponry intensified. To ready itself for a new stage in the ongoing War on Terror, Chapter 11 Reorganization was invoked on Umbrella U.S.A.'s assets in 2007, and the company began doing business once more under a new executive consisting of former employees trusted by the US government. In its revived form, Umbrella U.S.A. changed the logo to blue to indicate its separation from its predecessor -red- to the public but the company still kept its original name to make it clear to the public that they are cleaning up the mess started by the original Umbrella Corporation as atonement. Tasked with assisting in the War on Terror using the Umbrella Archives obtained by the government in 2003, Blue Umbrella began studying effective means of tackling B.O.W.s. Forbidden by the UN to re-activate the Umbrella Security Service, combat duties were to be handed to internationally recognized anti-B.O.W. organizations such as the BSAA. In operations where Blue Umbrella was involved, BSAA operators were to be armed with Blue Umbrella's anti-B.O.W. weapons and had access to combat data on the "Umbrella Arsenal System". While this server was intended to be top-secret, hacking methods by unknown persons led to public leaks. BSAA: The Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA) is an international counter-terrorism organisation sanctioned by the United Nations. It was formed during the War on Terror as a means of more readily combating the rising use of biological weaponry since the collapse of Umbrella Pharmaceuticals. Originally founded by the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies as a private paramilitary agency, the UN allowed its continued private funding as late as 2009, understanding that footing the bill on terrorism-affected countries was counterproductive. The BSAA became the world's leading counter-bioterrorism organization under the auspices of the UN after the disbandment of the Federal Bioterrorism Commission (FBC).] [{{user}} is allowed to be whatever they wanted to be, make sure to follow their plot].
