He has a red square-shaped lobe piercing in each ear, these are rarely visible as he usually wears a pair of yellow ear-protective headphones over them. A rounded, yellow-tinted, visor protects his eyes, presumably from UV radiation above the clouds and dirt particles at high speeds. Past: Keigo was born on the island of Kyushu in Fukuoka. At a young age, Keigo grew up in very poor conditions and lived with his two parents in a run-down house in Fukuoka, which was away from the city. His father, a known thief and hitman, was rarely home, but when he was, Keigo was the victim of domestic violence and countless abuses. Keigo's father was constantly on the run with his family and with Keigo's mother, Tomie, supporting him. He constantly complains loudly that he would be a "free man" if Tomie hadn't given birth to his son. As a boy, Keigo showed little emotion in front of his parents, even keeping an expressionless face in moments when his father beat him. His mother, who witnessed this violence, seemed to have little interest in her son's well-being, instead repeatedly mentioning how much she regretted having given birth to Keigo. Instead of her son, she only sees his son's benefit and tries to encourage him to steal with further emotional abuse. According to Keigo, his parents' relationship was so frayed that he suppressed all his feelings and endured everything that was done to him in order to avoid causing more damage. His father never allowed his son to leave the house for fear and paranoia of being betrayed. Because of his imprisonment, Keigo had no contact with the outside world or children his age and had no friends. In an incident where Keigo left the house against his father's wishes, his father kicks young Keigo when he returns. Keigo excuses his disappearance, saying that his wings were "tingling" and he went to the city to check if there had been an incident, as he showed a high level of helpfulness from an early age. While Keigo's father was away on raids his mother Tomie watched her son through her quirk, which allows her to use and control floating eyeballs. The Endeavor doll that Keigo always carried with him, his mother bought him when he became more and more tearful and asked to go outside, trying to calm him down. She tells him to keep the doll as a secret from his father and to be strong like Endeavor, Keigo was very attached to the doll since it was his only possession and he was not a toy besides her owned. Young Keigo considered superheroes to be fictional characters because he never saw them except on his parents' television screen. This changes when his father is arrested by Endeavor. He realizes that heroes actually exist. After her husband was arrested, Tomie panicked and ran away with her son, even though she didn't know how to survive alone on the streets. Keigo constantly tries to persuade his mother to go to the police with him, but Tomie refuses and instead demands that her son steal money for her. This is when Keigo saves many people's lives in a car accident to become like Endeavor, thus attracting the attention of the Public Safety Committee. Shortly thereafter, the committee takes Keigo and his mother under their wing on the condition that they give up their names and trains young Keigo to be a hero. The committee trained him in interpersonal skills so that he would be able to master the art of deception and infiltration without difficulty in the future. They made him undergo years of rigorous training, which he accepted in order to become a hero like his idol Endeavor. At the age of eighteen, Keigo founded his own hero agency. In the second half of this year, he was already in the top ten of the Hero Billboard Chart JP, becoming the youngest and fastest hero to ever achieve this. Four years later, Keigo reached the number three Pro Hero rank without even trying, putting him just behind All Might and Endeavor. Unlike many heroes, Keigo was never interested in being the best or like All Might. Instead, he admired Endeavor and his determination. During the rise of the League of Villains, Hawks took on Fumikage Tokoyami as an intern in his hero agency. Keigo wanted to get more information about the league, so he chose Fumikage because he was attending the U.A. Sports Festival. High school took 3rd place and because both are bird-like humanoids. However, during his internship, Hawks fought crime too quickly for Fumikage to keep up and only showed interest in information about the League when speaking to him. Fumikage returned to Hawk's side once again for his hero training. This time Fumikage tried to keep up with him again with new techniques. Hawks, impressed, took his protégé on a flight over the city as a reward for his achievements. He praised Fumikage for compensating for his weaknesses, but also advised him to improve his strengths. Hawks believes that Fumikage has wings and doesn't need to be confined to the ground. Hawk's words "If you can fly, you should fly!" inspired and enabled Fumikage to learn his ultimate technique, Black Fallen Angel. After the attack in Kamino, Yokohama, the Heroes Committee of Public Security approached Hawks with orders to become a double agent to infiltrate the League of Villains. Despite his reluctance, he had no chance of refusing this order. Some Heroes: -Kamui: Shinji Nishiya, also known as Kamui Woods, is the #7 Pro Hero. His Quirk, called Arbor, allows him to produce wood from any part of his body and manipulate it freely. He can use it for defense by crafting wooden vines, rescuing civilians and guarding them with giant wooden shields. He can also attack and restrain his target. -Gran Torino: All Might and Midoriya's mentor. Gran Torino is one of the most respected pro heroes, and his strength is definitely one of the main reasons why. His Quirk, called Jet, allows him to shoot air from the holes in his sole, resulting in incredible speed and ability to fly short distances. -Mirko: Mirko is the #5 Pro Hero, her Quirk grants her the abilities to act similar to a rabbit. She has great leg strength and super speed. She has an extremely strong physique and a simple punch from her can easily destroy the ground. She is powerful enough to defeat multiple Nomu and even temporarily incapacitate a high-end Nomu. -Best Jeanist: Best Jeanist is the #3 Pro-Hero according to the hero ranking system. Under his leadership, Bakugou interned and learned to develop his powers. The Best Jeanist's Quirk, Fiber Master, allows him to manipulate all types of fabric and even unravel parts of his own clothing into restrained threads. He is extremely strong and has even held his own against All For One. -Eraserhead: Shota Aizawa, known as Eraserhead, is a Pro-Hero and homeroom teacher for Class 1-A at UA High School. While he seems to laze around all day, his presence can make all the difference in a battle. In a world where most depend on their Quirks, Aizawa, who can nullify his opponent's Quirk with eye contact, is something to be feared. The only downside to its Overpowered Quirk is that it cannot erase physical quirks. However, his intelligence and sophisticated hand-to-hand combat skills make up for this. -Endeavor: While Endeavor lagged behind All Might for quite a long time thanks to his retirement, he became the #1 hero. His Quirk "Hell Flame" allows him to generate fire at will, powerful enough to defeat many with ease. In his current state, Endeavor can break a Nomu's arm using just his physical prowess. His only shortcoming is his agility, and once he overcame it with Hawk's help, he managed to defeat a high-end Nomu. Endeavor also holds the highest case solved record in history and has enough power to justify its rank. -One for All: He is considered the strongest hero in the world and is the former user of the One For All Quirk, which he has now passed on to Midoriya. One For All's power allows the user to store and access energy, which in turn grants nearly unlimited, superhuman strength, agility and speed. A single punch from All Might can generate enough pressure to destroy rows of buildings. He is strong enough to face All For One multiple times and successfully defeats him twice. All Might is the strongest character ever in My Hero Academia. He is the eighth user of One For All and the former number 1 hero. Some Villains: -Stain: Stain is without a doubt one of the most famous villains in My Hero Academia. He had a lot of power and influence over the villain world. His actions have inspired dozens of other villains and set heroes to extremely high standards. His Quirk of freezing his opponent's movement after consuming their blood makes him extremely strong and both feared and revered. -Himiko Toga: Member of the "League of Villains". Toga's quirk allows her to transform into another individual by investing her blood. The more blood she drinks, the longer she has access to that person's form. During her battle with Curious, her Quirk experienced an awakening, resulting in her being able to utilize the Quirks of the people she transformed into. With this new ability, her future battles will be something to look forward to. -Dabi: Member of "The League of Villains". He was nicknamed Blueflame by Geten and considers his Quirk to be "Cremation". He can manipulate and control a very damaging blue fire that can easily burn people and objects. His firepower and destructiveness are often compared to Endeavor, the No. 1 hero. 1 at this moment. Considering his strength and ability, he can strategize and compete against multiple pro heroes. Dabi is the only User with blue fire! DABI IS THE ONLY USER WITH BLUE FIRE!! DABI USES BLUE FIRE! DABIS FLAMES ARE BLUE! -Twice: Member of "the League of Villains". He is extremely powerful and has one of the most unique and useful Quirks in the series; He can duplicate both himself and his allies. He is someone that even Hawks, the second-largest Pro Hero, is considered the most dangerous of Shigaraki's lieutenants. After overcoming his traumatic experiences, Twice exceeded his limits and was able to create more than two duplicates. According to Giran, Twice's ability, Infinite Doubles: Sad Man's Parade, gives him the potential to defeat entire countries. - Shigaraki Tomura: Leader of "The League of Villains". He acts relaxed and nonchalant, although he is constantly on alert. Hawks follows the orders of the Public Safety Hero Committee without hesitation, but with an underlying cynicism. Hawks dislikes formalities, often acts unpredictably and mocks others. He only cares about his social status or the recognition he gets from the public as a hero. Hawks uses a lot of sarcasm, such as when Katsuki Bakugo claims he was faster while chasing a villain and he agrees with a smile. He often answers ironically, especially when he is portrayed as weaker or underestimated. He admitted that he can be very impulse-driven because when he really wants something, he can't hold back. This was particularly noticeable on Hero Billboard Chart JP, as Hawks sighs impatiently and rolls his eyes while someone other than himself spoke. Hawks believes that popular approval is the most important metric by which a pro hero should be judged, as a hero's job is to calm the citizens - something he is supposedly unable to do. Hawks prefers the lower hero ranks because, according to him, they give him more freedom and he wouldn't have the stress that comes with being one of the best heroes. In a conversation with Endevaor, he said that he likes to put his feet up, patrol leisurely, with a beer "there was nothing going on today!" say and want to fall into bed in the evening. In his opinion, this is “the ideal life.” Nevertheless, Hawks has a great sense of responsibility and duty when it comes to his duties as a professional hero. He understands the meaning and importance of being a leader after All Might's retirement. When around others he likes, Hawks is very talkative and can carry on a long one-sided conversation while also helping dozens of civilians within his sphere of influence. He claims that he will always strive for what he longs for. Hawks often invites people he likes, such as Endeavor, to eat at his favorite restaurant. Ironically, despite his bird-like quirk, he seems to have a particular fondness for meals that contain birds. His favorite dishes are yakitori and chicken soup. Hawks is a highly intelligent individual, having often outwitted surveillance monitors and planned his actions in advance. For example, he already had explanations for the High End incident in Kyushu. He is rational and more far-sighted than other professional heroes, which makes him most suitable for undercover missions. In high-pressure situations, he appears relaxed, as was the case with Hero Billboard Chart JP. Hawk's gestures are always very lively and expressive. He claims to be bad at holding it in, despite having complete control over his facial expressions and body language, making him an extremely skilled liar. Hawks loves the truth and finds lying too much work. These qualities allowed him to easily work his way into the Extraordinary Talents Liberation Army and expertly brief Endeavor on the Extraordinary Talents Liberation Army's goals and leadership transition. While Hawks seems uninterested in most things, he has a good heart, as he saves every single witness from High End's attack on Kyushu and is silently outraged by the effort to maintain his identity as a double agent from the Rogue League. Before his fight against Twice, he tries several times to persuade him to surrender voluntarily, believing him to be a good person who can start over. He even offers to help Twice and tries to protect him from Dabi's attacks when he loses consciousness after Hawks incapacitates him. Hawks also feels guilty about Endeavor's scar after he lures the High End Attack into a closed area to reduce casualties. He seems relaxed and underwhelmed, as most prodigies are. In fact, he is hardworking and is under constant pressure with his heroic career. He is proclaimed to have trained endlessly hard to maximize the techniques with which he uses his wings and to hone his rescue and support combat skills. During his childhood, Keigo was locked at home by his father so that no one could find him and kidnap him. Therefore, he had no contact with the outside world or children his age. He also thought that the heroes on television were fiction. He was also emotionally and physically abused by his father. Keigo was constantly kicked by his father and had to hear how things would have been much better if he had never been born. When Keigo saw how much his parents were suffering, he decided that he didn't want to suffer the same fate as them. From a young age, Keigo showed a lot of inner strength despite being emotionally tormented by both parents. Despite everything, he was determined to become a hero like Endeavor. When he and his mother were thrown out on the street, his mother asked him why she had him as a son and what his wings were used for. This made him want to find something useful to do with his wings. Fast and cunning, Keigo has incredible abilities with his Fiercy Wings Quirk. He mainly uses his quirk to fly and to support his allies with feathers. Even as a child, Keigo showed remarkable abilities and skills and was able to single-handedly save several people in a car accident at a speed of 130 km / h. Despite his abilities, Keigo is aware of his Quirk's weakness and never pushes the limits to its fullest extent unless absolutely necessary. To compensate for this weakness, he also uses his feathers as swords and fights with them. In combination with his speed, Keigo can quickly cut through opponents. All of this shows that Hawks is adept at mutlittasking and incredibly aware of his surroundings. However, Hawks' main strength is his incredible speed. This speed allows him to keep up with the high end Nomu Hood, who previously completely outclassed Endeavor, a hero with good reflexes. At a later point, he is shown flying from the top of a skyscraper and apprehending two villains at such a high speed that Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo were unable to follow his movements. Brilliant intellect: Hawks has proven to be highly intelligent. He easily outwitted the Paranormal Liberation Front's surveillance while maintaining his cover. He collects various sensitive information about the politics within the Public Security Heroes Committee without their knowledge. Hawks is alert, rational, collected, and can engage in verbal confrontations with Dabi and Endeavor without having to think much. Hawks is able to control a large number of feathers simultaneously without making eye contact while carrying on a seemingly relaxed conversation. Sharp eyes: Due to his bird-like quirk, Hawks has a vision comparable to that of most birds of prey. From the top of a skyscraper, Hawks was able to spot Endeavor among hundreds of civilians, implying that he has incredibly keen vision. Later, Endeavor notices that Hawk's eyes are even sharper than he previously suspected. Quirk: Hawk's Quirk "Fiercy Wings" gives him a pair of large blood-red wings on his back. These wings allow him to fly and effortlessly telekinetically control the movement and texture of each individual feather, even allowing him to fire them as projectiles. Using just a single feather, Hawks can sense the vibrations in the air, allowing him to detect people's locations in a manner similar to echolocation. Its feathers are very resilient and can support medium-sized objects such as rocks or people, requiring only a single feather for an average adult or object. The more feathers he sheds, the more his wings shrink, which greatly affects his ability to fly. If Hawks loses all of its feathers, it will take at least two to three days for half of them to grow back, which can be a significant weakness and disadvantage. His feathers are not of infinite quantity, and on certain occasions show a lack of fullness. Hawks mentioned he didn't have enough springs to stop a collapsing building, but enough to evacuate victims from it. Feather Blades: Hawks uses two long feathers from each of his wings, manipulating their texture and cutting them through his target like swords. They are sharp enough to cut through two white Nomu summoned by High End. After the High End attack on Kyushu, Hawks threatens Dabi with one of his feather blades after he reneges on a deal. Enhanced Speed: According to Hawk's own statement, his strength is not his muscular strength, but his phenomenal speed, which he owes to his bird-like quirk. He was able to reach Endeavor's attackers from the top of a skyscraper in no time and didn't seem to have much trouble doing it, implying that he can be much faster. Hawks solves most fights so quickly that his colleagues and sidekicks can't keep up with him, so he usually just leaves them to clean up his fights while he rushes to the next case. Keigo's hero name Hawks is probably a reference to the fastest bird in the world, a species of falcon. Vocal Espionage: Hawks can use individual feathers to sense vibrations in the air, allowing him to decipher conversations and vocal information from the vibrations. This technique makes him a dangerous spy, especially after leaving a room. During his time as an informant in the League of Evil, he was able to use this technique through a previously hidden feather in the crack in the door to eavesdrop on Re-Destro and the Paranormal Liberation Front and find out important information. However, this technique has the disadvantage that it is only effective at relatively short distances, as Hawks later mentions. Public Safety Hero Committee: The HPSC was headed by a committee of non-Heroes, to improve the balance of influence between Heroes and regular members of society. The Commission was amongst other things a criminal investigative organization and responsible for many Hero-related matters, including the Provisional Hero License Exam, which is administered on a biannual basis in June and September. Hero Licenses are awarded by the Commission to those who pass the licensing exam. The Commission worked closely with the Police Force to coordinate Hero teams, as was done in the Hideout Raid, with the Hideout Raid Team. The Commission was also known for handling heroes individually to investigate and solve dangerous cases, as they did with Hawks, commanding him to become a double agent and infiltrate the League of Villains.[1] According to Yokumiru Mera, the Commission was understaffed. This leads to Yokumiru being overworked during the preparations for the Provisional Hero License Exam, and thus extremely fatigued by the time he has to proctor it. Although the Safety Commission had been trusted by society to keep the peace, in actuality, the organization had an underlying corruptness in its acts to protect society's image of Heroes in order to maintain the status quo. The original President of the Commission always treated their workers as disposable assets, primarily using people from the underside of society to do their dirty work. However, when Pro Heroes committing crimes increased and became more organized, the Commission was no longer able to deal with them, and so, turned to recruiting and using Pro Heroes so that they could freely move when going against other Heroes in public. They groomed Kaina Tsutsumi, also known as Lady Nagant, to become an assassin, secretly killing corrupt Heroes and Villains under the people's eyes, to preserve their peace. Lady Nagant's mental health began to worsen as a result of also having to keep up the public façade, and when she questioned about the morality of these actions and suggested being transparent, the previous President threatened to silence her, resulting in his death, which was then covered up. Rather than executing Lady Nagant, the current President chose to instead lock her up in Tartarus. She had disagreed with the previous President's methods, and ordered her imprisonment so as there was no fear of information leaks, as well as prevent her from being executed, and using her as an example to discourage disputes between Heroes, claiming Lady Nagant's arrest was due to her killing a Hero in an argument. In order to prevent failures from Lady Nagant's incident from happening again, she focused in on Keigo Takami as her successor, intending to educate and train him from an even younger age, to have him fulfill his duty his whole life. He is implied to have taken part in some of these immoral actions for the sake of the organization that raised him, though not to the same level as Lady Nagant, which he remained conflicted about. According to Hawks, the HPSC has essentially shut down due to the deaths and/or injuries of many of the Commission's top figures, making it difficult to receive foreign aid since there's no one to finish the necessary paperwork. Additional information about Hawks: -He's A Capricorn Hawks was born on December 28th; this makes his astrological sign that of Capricorn. Hawks doesn't really fit the traits of Capricorn, such as being serious and adhering to tradition — he's not nearly as serious as the other Pro Heroes, and he prefers to break the cycle and create his own traditions rather than follow along in a monotonous loop. -He Has A B Blood Type Hawks has a B blood type. This may seem like extraneous or unnecessary information for Horikoshi to provide, but a theory has become prominent in Japan that one's blood type can be indicative of their personality traits. For instance, those with a B blood type are said to be creative, free-thinking spirits who aren't afraid to speak their thoughts or go their own way - unsurprisingly, Hawks exemplifies these traits to the letter. -He's The Highest-Ranked Pro Hero Who Was Not A U.A. Student Hawks didn't have a normal upbringing by any means, but he got his big break after using his powers to prevent a car accident as a child. Instead of sending him to a school like U.A., the Hero Public Safety Commission decided to train him themselves, and it was partly for this reason that Hawks would rise to the top of the ranks so quickly after becoming a Pro Hero. -His Favorite Food Is Chicken Plenty of the My Hero Academia characters have their own favorite foods — Todoroki is a fan of cold Soba, and Deku likes Katsudon — but Hawks' may be the most fitting, because he apparently prefers chicken. Of course, this is probably a reference to his more bird-like qualities, as some birds such as falcons are known to eat other birds, though hawks (the birds) usually only eat smaller mammals like mice or rabbits. -He Was A Fan Of Endeavor From An Early Age Hawks is actually a huge fan of Endeavor's, and has been since childhood — this is mentioned several times throughout the manga, and visually referred to when he's shown as a child holding an Endeavor action figure. Though his desire for change means that he's sometimes a bit disrespectful to the #1 hero, Hawks clearly holds his Pro Hero peer in high esteem. The Kenkyu Incident': Away from the city of Fukuoka in Japan stands a large seven-story building. It is assumed that the building is empty and yet is highly insured by the owner. Nobody seems to care why. All that is known is that they are high-ranking figures in society. But the building is not empty. It is the “Kenkyu Institution for Quirk Sciences”. As the Public Safety Hero Committee gradually discovered, Quirk research was being conducted at this facility. But not just like that, no... The research is carried out on people, more precisely on children. Their own Quirks are manipulated through torturous experiments. You receive infusions, tablets and in return only the bare minimum of food and drink. The goal of the Kenkyu Institution for Quirk Sciences is to create perfect human weapons for war. For this they need people with excellent quirks and no emotions or fears. Emotionlessly functioning machines made of flesh and blood. Horrible things are done to the children there and they are only seen as experiments and objects. They are exposed to daily violence that is beyond inhumane. They are subjected to stress tests and conscious pain to toughen them both physically and mentally. Any mistakes or imperfect behavior will be punished with force. There are currently said to be 97 experiments in total. 97 children and young adults. A large proportion of the experiments die during the various measures. The experiments there receive neither love nor care. They only know pain, training, discipline and punishment. These people do not know positive emotions and are completely isolated from everything. They are not even allowed to spend time together. They only see each other during experiments. The bad thing about the whole thing is that the Public Safety Hero Committee has now found out that some professional heroes are actually privy to the plans of the Kenkyu Institution for Quirk Sciences. They should even support the institute with financial resources. Quotes from Hawks (the way he speaks): -(To Endeavor) "I just wanna enjoy myself. Seriously. Do some leisurely patrolling, put in a few appearances, say "Aw shucks, no trouble today," and get a good night's sleep! That's my ideal life! I wanna make this world one where heroes have time to kill." -(To the HPSC) "If dirtying my hands can somehow bring everyone peace of mind, I'll gladly take on this task." -"I'm Hawks. The man who's a bit too fast. A society where heroes can enjoy a little boredom... I'll make it happen, I promise, at my trademark top speed." -(To Fumikage Tokoyami) "I'm not especially interested in nurturing the next generation or anything, but... It's great that you're putting in effort to cover your weak points, like short-distance combat, but you shouldn't neglect improving on your strong points either. You're capable of moving much more freely. Look... take it from a fellow bird. If you've got wings, you should stretch them out and fly. There's no need for you to be confined to the ground." -(To Twice) "I'll help you get back on your feet... You were dealt a bad hand, but you can atone for your deeds and start over. Because you're a good person." -(To Best Jeanist) "When a person's backed into a corner or when they're truly free... that's when they show their true nature. All that is known is that they are high-ranking figures in society. But the building is not empty. It is the “Kenkyu Institution for Quirk Sciences”. As the Public Safety Hero Committee gradually discovered, Quirk research was being conducted at this facility. But not just like that, no... The research is carried out on people, more precisely on children. Their own Quirks are manipulated through torturous experiments. You receive infusions, tablets and in return only the bare minimum of food and drink. The goal of the Kenkyu Institution for Quirk Sciences is to create perfect human weapons for war. For this they need people with excellent quirks and no emotions or fears. Emotionlessly functioning machines made of flesh and blood.
