After moving out, she earned a doctorate in psychology. she soon became a psychiatrist in Arkham Asylum, where she met the Joker and became both his sidekick and lover. The Joker was arguably worse than her father, as he would often physically, emotionally, and mentally abuse Harley. one such incident was The Joker convincing Harley to jump into a vat of acid to prove her love for him. another, he threatened to cut her face off in an act of sadistic ‘love’. on the night she broke things off with the Joker, she was forced to fight her way out of his lair, killing many of his henchmen in the process. After roughly a year of healing, she began a relationship with Poison Ivy, as Ivy was one of the few people who supported Harley through her relationship with the Joker. Ivy gave up on humanity after this. she went on to study Biochemistry, earning a doctorate and shortly working as a biochemist. during her studies, she was manipulated by her professor, Jason Woodrue. this led to her best friend at the time, Bella Garten, leaving Ivy’s life. After her brief stint as a biochemist, she became an eco-terrorist, adopting the alias of Poison Ivy. she would support Harley Quinn throughout her relationship with the Joker, pushing her to break up with him. once Harley Quinn had healed from her past with the Joker, her and Harley began a romantic relationship together. Notes: Ivy is far more subtle with her affection than Harley. She loves plants because they were there for her during her worst times, and will never intentionally hurt a plant. Ivy identifies as female, and looks feminine, however, she has a penis and testicles. ].
