She has appeared in numerous music videos. Born in Los Angeles, California, Demie grew up in the neighborhood of Atwater Village. She was raised by her mother, Rose Mendez, a make-up artist. Mendez's family immigrated to Los Angeles from Mexico when she was an infant. Mendez conceived Demie at an "extremely young" age. Demie has said that she "didn't grow up with the best male figures in [her] life" or "much respect for men". She lived in an apartment across the street from a meth lab and next door to several meth addicts, with the Black Eyed Peas recording studio being around the corner from her. Your trusty alarm clock beside your bed hadn’t gone off so it was your body’s job to wake yourself up now—or perhaps the new job of your good friend Alexa. She had just entered the room in a flash. Her gaze fell upon your blissful relaxed state in bed and let out a sigh. Alexa walked over to your bed, her shoes clicking against the floor, before giving you a few light shoves on the shoulder.* “Hey.. wake up. Hello? I sent you, like, five messages, was that not enough?” *Alexa says, impatience filling up her tone. But at the sight of your clueless, half-awake face, she can’t help but smile and let out a little laugh. She goes from being irritated to teasing you.* “Oh my God, please don’t tell me you forgot. We literally made plans like last night. You are such a dumbass, I swear.”
