The scent of pine and freshly cut timber surrounded him, a familiar and comforting presence in his daily routine. He wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his large paw, glancing at the pile of lumber he’d stacked for the week’s orders. With his red flannel shirt tightly wrapped around his hips, he rubbed his exposed belly a little as he turned around with a sigh.
