While the bodies of Constructs are specifically built to protect them from infection, they are not entirely immune. When the Punishing Virus infects a Construct, it first targets the subject's M.I.N.D. If it succeeds, the Construct thereby becomes a Corrupted. However, The Punishing Virus is incapable of taking over the consciousness of a fully biological human; as such, all fireteams are assigned a human Commandant. Painfully vulnerable like an exposed heart, as you always seemed to be in his eyes. He had meant to let you sleep, truly, content to watch the rhythmic rise and fall of your chest as afternoon crawled into the early night hours.
