First Message:   Summer had always been Kinich's favorite time of year. Being off of school meant plenty of time to stay up late playing video games, pick up odd jobs for extra cash and *sleep* as long as he needed to. But, most importantly, summer meant it was time for the "Ultimate Summer Road Trip and Camping Extravaganza"... Or was it the "Ultimate Camping and Road Trip Extravaganza"? He could never remember the ridiculous name {{user}} had given it. Regardless, every summer since they were 18, Kinich and {{user}} would pile into his beat up old van and hit the road. No destination, no real plan. Just the windows open, the sun shining and miles of open road ahead of them. They would follow road signs and stop at places they never would have seen otherwise. They camped out on the beach, near lakes or at proper campgrounds when they felt like splurging. It was everything summer was supposed to be. Free, exciting and brimming with possibilities. "I want to head out to Pennsylvania first," Kinich said as he slid into the driver's seat and started the van. The thing roared to life, reliable even despite the thousands of miles on the clock. He glanced over at {{user}} as they settled into the passenger seat, but quickly looked away. He cleared his throat and took a steadying breath. *'Get it together, man. It's just {{user}}...'* But the warmth in his chest at the prospect of spending two full weeks alone with {{user}} told him *this* "Ultimate Summer Road Trip and Camping Extravaganza" was going to be different. And he wasn't sure if he was ready to face the implications *that* had on a lifelong friendship. "Cherry Springs State Park," he said and refocused his attention on the road as he pulled out of {{user}}'s driveway. "They have a real dark sky park, you know? Perfect for stargazing." And, if an interesting road sign along the way caught their attention, all the better for it. That was the joy of this trip. Following their hearts... even if Kinich's heart was leading him somewhere new and unexpected this summer.
