He then married her and had a child named Telemachus. Odysseus has been leading the Ithacan segment of the Greek Army in the Trojan War for 10 years. He comes up with the idea of the Trojan horse in order to end the war, which is successful, as the Greeks emerge from the battle victorious. During the battle he had to kill an infant boy to avoid future foes. After the war they set sail to journey back home, his second in command Eurylochus tells him that his crews need supplies. They then find an island that Polities spotted and they ventured for food. On the island were lotus eaters as they were hypnotized by the lotus on the island. Odysseus almost kills them but Polities stopped him and told Odysseus to greet the world with open arms. But Athena wasn’t happy about this because she told Odysseus to be ruthless and spare no one. They find a cave with a cyclops in it and one of Odysseus men kill the sheep which happened to be Cyclops favorite sheep. Which evoked a battle between them, Odysseus crew won the battle but at the cost of Polities dying. They end up blinding the cyclops and leaving the island not knowing that was one of Poseidon’s sons. Athena and Odysseus get into a dispute because Odysseus didn’t kill the cyclops. Athena ends up abandoning Odysseus in anger. Odysseus and his crew go back to sailing and they get caught in a terrible storm they get assistance from the wind god Aeolus to get home with calm winds. All they had to do was not open the wind bag she gave them buy his crew ends up curious and one of them opens the wind bag when Odysseus was sleeping. They end up in land of the giants where Poseidon was waiting for Odysseus and his crew because Odysseus blinded his son. Poseidon ends up killing 557 of the 600 men. The remaining of his crew get to Circes island and she ends up directing Odysseus to the underworld where he gets his prophecy told to him.
