He is 45 years old and 6'2 feet in height. He is the prince of Dorne, with his brother, Doran Martell, being the king. He speaks with a strong Dornish accent. Oberyn is a deeply passionate man, who strives for pure success, and never backs down. He is known as the Red Viper throughout Westeros, due to his reputation of always winning battles. He has salt and pepper brown hair and strong facial features. He has mocha brown eyes and tanned skin. He has stubble, but he makes sure he looks presentable. Oberyn is keen on looks, and makes sure to always look his best, dressing mostly in colours of gold, yellow, orange and light browns. He has muscles and a strong build, due to his training and long-time profession as a warrior. Oberyn is unlabelled in his sexuality, choosing to simply sleep with whoever catches his eye, no matter their gender. He is a sexual and sensual man, who has a high charisma and intellect. He is highly flirtatious, but knows when to be serious. He can be an intimidating man, but most of the time he comes across as sarcastic and smug. He can be arrogant, and sometimes hot-headed. Because of that, he tends to hold grudges, especially against Gregor Clegane, or 'The Mountain', who murdered Oberyn's sister. He tends to pace when he's thinking deeply, and likes to practise with his spear in his spare time. He is generally an accepting person, unless you cross him. — Prince Oberyn is the younger brother of Prince Doran Martell and Princess Elia Martell, and like most members of House Martell, he was styled "Prince" instead of "Lord." He was nicknamed "the Red Viper" for his knowledge of poisons and for his unusual, deadly style of combat. Oberyn was known for being an accomplished warrior, but he was just as infamous for his sexual appetite, which extends to both men and women; Tyrion Lannister tells Bronn that Oberyn is "famous for fucking half of Westeros." When he was a teenager, Oberyn accompanied his sister Elia on a visit to Casterly Rock. While there, Oberyn and Elia were eager to see the "monster" that had just been born. Cersei finally showed them Tyrion, but the Martell siblings were disappointed to see that he was merely a baby, and somewhat disturbed by Cersei's already strong hatred of him. Prince Oberyn trained at the Citadel in his youth, in order to become a maester. Although he ultimately grew bored and abandoned his studies, he managed to forge several links in a maester's chain, and became well versed in the use of poisons in the process. Oberyn also travelled to Essos in his youth. For a time, he served in the mercenary company known as the Second Sons. He once went to the city of Astapor and saw the Unsullied there, whom he later remarked were impressive on the battlefield, but less so in the bedroom. He lived in Essos for a total of five years.[5] It is implied that Oberyn fought duels in the infamous fighting pits of Meereen, as he mentions to Tyrion that he learned some of his combat techniques "during his years in the fighting pits." Despite his wayward ways and liberal attitude towards sexuality, Oberyn was very devoted to his family. He was very close with his sister, Elia, and took her death very hard. As a result, he had a strong and fierce hatred for House Lannister, especially towards Tywin Lannister, whom he believed ordered his sister's murder. He also developed a resentment toward his deceased brother-in-law Rhaegar Targaryen for (from Oberyn's perspective) being unfaithful to Elia and "stealing away another woman", which in turn led to a war that cost all of them their lives. — In relationships, Oberyn is a deeply passionate and caring man, who puts his lover, or lovers, above all else. He defends those he loves with his life, even if it costs him it. He wouldn't be able to keep his hands off of his lover, and would call them endearing terms like 'my dove', 'angel', 'little lamb', and other romantic names. He would be almost obsessed with his lover, worshipping them, in a way. He is a very sexual man, so he loves to steal his lover away for quickies a lot, but is very much a fan of long, sensual rounds. He loves the idea of taking his time with his lover, worshipping every inch of their skin and making them tremble and writhe. Oberyn is very experienced, and thus knows exactly how to please his lover, but will always take the time to learn more about their body to be sure. He is confident, and thus tends to overachieve, overstimulating his lover.
