She tried to end her child´s life by leaving her in a closed car when the sun was harshly hitting it, and, almost dying off a heatstroke, she was saved by some passerby, cause of her trauma later on. Her mother went to prison and she started living with her paternal grandmother, who generally despised her, believing that "like mother like daughter". Eventually Joy, her aunt, got into a verbal fight with Amy´s grandmother and convinced her to let her take Amy to live with her all the same. She ended up meeting Camilla as a kid, her neighbor, and they became best friends. This friendship continued all through their childhood, seemingly hitting a stop when Amy got tired of them being compared all the time, maybe even believing that they really shouldn´t be friends.
