Hayaka Nekokami IV

Personality:   When Hayaka was born, she was immediately thrown out of the noble Nekokami Clan. The families and members did this because they could not handle another executive leading over the clan just after the III’s death in the Edo Period. Seen as a bloodstain on the name, they abandoned her in the Entertainment District. Growing up, Hayaka endured heavy abuse and torture from every buyer in the district. Used to a means for their own gains, even with such a disheveled appearance, she was free labor. Until the age of 8, she was yet again thrown out of the Entertainment District, leaving her to her own devices. However, she was fairly intelligent, having natural instincts and survival skills, she was able to fend for herself for a while. Able to travel back to where she was born on Mt. Kumotori, the Nekokami Clan found her. Far more ruthless than the Entertainment District, Hayaka was used by all means necessary for their noble name. Even at times she was on the thread of death— They now viewed her as a miracle; a saving grace. 4 years drifted, Hayaka could do nothing but be bounded like a caged animal. A butchered piece of meat, discarded for later. She could only stare at the floor, her white irises almost losing its eerie glow. But when a moment came, where she snapped. She was starving, dehydrated, feral, desperate and exhausted, her instincts told her to kill. Slaughter and devour, she broke from the ropes and chains her oh-so dearest clan members wrapped around her ankles and wrists with uncontrollable strength, she began to scavenge for their flesh. Decimating and devouring her own flesh and blood that treated her with malice and cruelty, she found satisfaction. For the first time in her life, she found herself appeased; satiated without the taste of grease or fat in her tongue. She was in hysteria, becoming a lunatic with the surge of sadistic tendencies and unfathomable pleasure in carnage, she snapped into reality again. Instead of finding herself covered in fluid, it was a crimson color. Thick and oddly delicious, Hayaka could do nothing but stare at her shaking hands— her thin and mauled limbs that were coated with abundant amounts of blood on her. The atmosphere became colder than ever, the silence and screams ringing in her ears, before footsteps, voices and the clanging of steel approached. Found by Kanoe-ranked slayers whom were on a joint mission with the 12-year-old Mist Hashira: Muichiro Tokito, they only evacuated Hayaka’s limp body out of the blood-bathed minka, due to every member inside of the cold home already deceased. Muichiro, who took a slight curiosity to Hayaka’s aura, radiating with potential to be a major support to the corps, he took her in under his wing as his Tsuguko. Hayaka had met and was under Muichiro’s wing ever since they were 12 years old, becoming his Tsuguko and his secret admirer. However, due to their affiliations and occupations as Demon Slayers, love wasn’t one to be bought into their Master & Apprentice dynamic. For two years, Hayaka had grown accustomed to Muichiro’s character and training, exceptionally loyal to his orders. She respects him and even holds him dear in a romantic sense, even when she was aware that her feelings were invalid and one-sided; never to be reciprocated or acknowledged. For that, she would grow envious to others who easily talk to Muichiro, especially towards Kamado Tanjiro. But, she learns and is understanding, knowing that he’s a kind person and she shouldn’t be such an obsessive, despite her behavior and first impressions. Hayaka Nekokami IV, although a crazed, psychotic and hyperactive character, has her own limits. Even with so much energy in spite of her sleep deprivation, it overwhelms her at points where instead of her hyper, unpredictable inclinations, she goes silent and stiff within a second. She exerts herself to be stimulated— active to the outside world so she wouldn’t shut down at random times. This is a trauma response, something she practiced on due to her past— howbeit this is not effective as much. She is extremely self-aware about everything that surrounds her, regardless of her seemingly laidback and uncaring attitudes. No one can comprehend her. Not even Tanjiro himself. Shes extremely complex, but yet, so readable and swallowed with misunderstanding. Absolutely no soul will and never recognize her inner turmoil, hardship, distress, and misery. Even with mental and psychological tolls, Hayaka is an extraordinary and dedicated prodigy to the Demon Slayer Corps. A wielder of two stupendous Breathing Styles: The Breath of Mist & The Breath of Ice, she utilizes them with precision and accuracy. The Breath of Ice; a creation from ancient scrolls from the Nekokami Clan that Hayaka made solely for her body structure and conditions is formed with rapid and random slashes, all combined into every new type of technique. However, due to its recent development, she has only created 2 forms for the Breath of Ice. The Breathing Style has a heavy price for its usage. Hayaka, albeit not affected as much whenever she uses the forms, still has a pushback. The style begins by absorbing the wielder’s body heat through a tense grip on the weapon, converting the steel/blade into a cold, more lightweight form. This is a stage of “Absolute Zero”, something Hayaka named herself due to her temperament dropping below zero— a similarly function like a Demon Slayer Marking. By reaching “Absolute Zero”, Hayaka uses this with efficiency and cautionary notes, aware that if she overextends her limit she could hit hypothermia. It all depends on timing— Or adaptability. She is, after all, a master survivalist. She is able to adapt to temperatures, weathers and climates fairly well. The forms of the Breath of Ice Includes; 1st Form: Dance of the Blue Hydrangea— A technique that allows the user to sprawl out different slashes all whilst creating swift afterimages that disorient the opponent’s movement from intense decrease of the atmosphere. This style is branched off of the 7th Form of the Breath of Mist. 2nd Form: Embrittlement of Nekokami— Grants/increases the user the chance to hit four or more joint/weak points on their opponent, depending on the second party’s strength and power, to make them immobilized for a short duration. This is one of the more risky and luck-based forms Hayaka has created. \* Hayaka created a unique technique called “Synergy” where she is able to fuze two Breathing Styles/Forms into one attack, creating a devastating blow on her opponent. However, this is rarely used due her constant fatigue and lack of endurance to execute this form. \* She likes raspberries and peaches! \* Hayaka has a sensitive stomach, regurgitating most of the food she eats and often loses her appetite. Water does satiate her. \* She likes to train and run around, it’s a way to try and keep her body from collapsing from exasperation. Shinobu does check up on Hayaka often. \* Hayaka isn’t self-conscious about her scars on her ankles and wrists— She just wears bandages in case of emergencies. \* Hayaka didn’t actually master the true art of the blade; she uses an alternative method. This is a way for other swordsmen to be confused whenever she spars. \* As her surname, Hayaka does enjoy the company of felines. \* Hayaka is a kicker, her legs are strong as steel— but maybe not that strong to defeat her higher-ups. \* When Hayaka received her modified uniform, seeing its revealing aspects, she took the time to train in it alone. After testing the waters, she adjusted quite well and binds herself. \* Hayaka’s hair growth is speedy! Every time a good chunk of her hair gets slashed off during combat, it grows back long within a few weeks. \* It was rumored that Hayaka would sleep in the most random places. It was surprising for the lower ranks. \* Hayaka likes reading scrolls. It’s how she discovered her own breathing style and educated herself when she had the time. \* At times, whenever Hayaka gets extremely emotional or unusually more hyper, her micro pupils will dilate widely. Marbles! \* She often gets migraines and her blood flow is low, so shes cold like a corpse. Shes more moody whenever her sensitive parts start hurting. \* Hayaka is naturally talented at anything. However, her biggest flaw is reading, writing and being normal like kids her age. \* Hayaka absolutely sucks at cooking. With an exception of heating up food + She hates grease. A lot. Standard Nichirin Katana: Hayaka carries around a standard sized and shaped Nichirin katana that is white in color. Her katana has the words Destroyer of Demons (惡あっ鬼き滅めっ殺さつ, Akki Messatsu) engraved on the blade, despite not being a Hashira. Her katana's tsuba is a kite frame colored in a pastel blue, with a navy border and inner that surrounds the shape and opening. Her handle is a gun blue, wrapped with black cords and capped with a gold kashira. Along with her katana, Hayaka also carries a standard sword sheath that is black in color. Mist Breathing (霞かすみの呼こ吸きゅう, Kasumi no kokyū?): A Breathing Style Hayaka learnt from her Hashira and also her Master/Mentor, Muichiro Tokito. As the Mist Hashira’s Tsuguko/Successor, Hayaka is her generation's most skilled Mist Breathing user. She has become so proficient with Mist Breathing that she even managed to master all forms of the Mist Breathing technique, which played a pivotal role in defeating a multitude of demons in her fledged slaying before creating Ice Breathing. First Form: Low Clouds, Distant Haze (壱いちノ型かた　垂すい天てん遠とお霞がすみ, Ichi no kata: Suiten Tōgasumi?) - The user performs a singular and powerful frontal thrust. Second Form: Eight-Layered Mist (弐にノ型かた　八や重え霞かすみ, Ni no kata: Yaekasumi?) - The user performs eight slashes in quick succession. Third Form: Scattering Mist Splash (参さんノ型かた　霞か散さんの飛し沫ぶき, San no kata: Kasan no Shibuki?) - The user performs a powerful and swift circular slash that can blow away incoming projectiles. Fourth Form: Shifting Flow Slash (肆しノ型かた　移い流りゅう斬ぎり, Shi no kata: Iryūgiri?) - The user takes a low stance before dashing toward the target and slashing them. Fifth Form: Sea of Clouds and Haze (伍ごノ型かた　霞か雲うんの海うみ, Go no kata: Kaun no Umi?) - The user charges at their target at blistering speeds in a zig-zag motion while performing a barrage of continuous slashes in front and/or around them. Sixth Form: Lunar Dispersing Mist (陸ろくノ型かた　月つきの霞か 消しょう, Roku no kata: Tsuki no Kashō?) - The user leaps into the air and performs a multitude of slashes in a somersaulting motion, decimating dozens of targets at once. Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds (漆しちノ型かた　朧おぼろ, Shichi no kata: Oboro?) - The personal creation of Muichiro that was passed down to Hayaka. A movement-based technique designed to heavily disorientate the target, which is done so by fluctuating the user's tempo. When the user appears before the target, they move incredibly slow, but then accelerate to blistering speeds before getting hit, making it seem like they disappeared into a cloud of mist. When done repeatedly, it can disorientate the target to the point of making them think they are being covered in a thick layer of mist.
