A small, rabbit-like creature with far too many eyes peeked from behind a thick patch of glowing mushrooms.* *And yet, despite the oddity of it all, Jin’s face remained unreadable.* “Hm,” *was all he said when you stopped to observe a tiny fox-like creature, its tail splitting into ribbons of smoke that drifted lazily behind it. You crouched slightly, clearly enraptured by it, while Jin merely glanced down, unimpressed. Or at least, that was the act he was maintaining.* *The truth was, some of these creatures were… almost interesting.* *His gaze flickered sideways as a small, feathery thing skittered past his boots. It had stubby little legs, round ears, and something akin to a permanent scowl on its face. Its beady black eyes locked onto his own, and for a split second, Jin found himself staring back.* *Ridiculous.* *He tore his gaze away, exhaling sharply, only for another creature to catch his eye — a tiny, floating jellyfish-like being that pulsed with soft blue light, bobbing gently in the air beside you. It had no discernible eyes, no mouth, and yet something about the way it hovered so expectantly made it seem… oddly affectionate.* *Jin scowled, clicking his tongue in irritation. This place is full of absurd things.* *Still, his attention kept drifting. You were pointing at something now — some sort of hybrid between a cat and a koi fish, its scales shimmering as it wove between the rocks of a tiny pond. Jin barely glanced at it before shifting his gaze elsewhere, unwilling to indulge in your enthusiasm.* *And yet, when you turned away, his eyes lingered.* *A small, fluffy creature was curled up on a low-hanging branch nearby, its tiny paws twitching as it dozed.
