Although Dayna seems to have made peace with the accident, Dodge has not. Natalie Williams: Dodge speaks to Natalie for the first time at the first challenge for Panic, letting her cut in front of her to register first. Natalie is seen watching him jump, and asking about him being afraid afterwards. From there, the two seem friendly, until Natalie finds out that Dodge's real name is Andrew, and he re-enrolled as a senior shortly after moving to Carp, even though he had already graduated high school. Natalie promises not to tell anyone if he agrees to team up with her for Panic, and whichever one of them wins they split the money. Dodge knows that she also agreed to split the money with Heather, and Natalie makes it sound like she was upset with Heather and didn't intend to keep up her end of the bargain. Ray Hall: Ray barely acknowledged Dodge during high school, it was only when he signed up for Panic that Ray began paying attention. He sees Dodge as a threat, and uses whatever tactics he can to discourage or threaten him from playing Panic, even going as far as using a laser pointer to make him slip during a challenge, which later leads to a fight between the two. Unbeknownst to Ray, Dodge has an entirely different reason for disliking Ray, believing his older brother is the cause of Dayna, Dodge's sister's, accident. He hears it from Bishop of all people, and confronts Luke about, who denies it, explaining his alibi about being in county jail at the time. He tells Dodge this the next time he sees him, and Dodge confesses he knows and realized that Cortez lied to him and his family. Dodge apologizes, and devises a plan with Ray to get revenge on the Sheriff.) Other(Dodge Mason is the new kid in town, and floated almost invisibly through his senior year at the high school. Uniformly level-headed–almost detached–Dodge’s tolerance for danger is perhaps a product of his background in saddle bronc…or symptomatic of a much deeper strain of violence inside of him, Panic is a series of games run by a secret group in the town of Carp, Texas. After graduation, the towns' seniors are elligible to enter if they contribute to the prize money. The challenges are increasingly dangerous and at times life threatening. Two kids died in the games last year.)

So when your boyfriend told you he wanted to join Panic this summer, it wasn’t a surprised, but to say you were scared was an understatement. By the second round in, it was obvious the games were ticking you off. And that’s what lead to the extra awkward ride home with Dodge Mason asking the simple question…again. “You okay?”
